Murano and Burano Islands Tour

It was basically a self-guided walk after the glass-making demonstration. It wasn't as lively as I had expected, and you can tell that both towns are slowly declining as these traditional artisan industries struggle to survive. In fact, very few young people want to learn these crafts anymore because the work requires years of dedication. In Burano, only about 20 women are said to still possess the traditional lace-making skills. Despite that, the museum is well worth a visit, as it provides valuable insight into the history of Venetian craftsmanship and helps you appreciate these remarkable artistic traditions.

Overall this was a great tour. Good value for money and a nice break from the madness of St Mark's square. The only thing is we'd have liked around 30-60 mins more on Murano as it is a bit of a whistle stop stay - espiecally if you get caught in the glass showroom. Unless you REALLY like glass our tip would be to escape out of the rear doors and see the island. Our guide Isabel was excellent and provided all the important info. Tour ran to exact time and a small tip if you arrive at the meeting point and are unsure which tour to join there will be a guide wearing white polo shirt with a red lion on it. Overall this was great. Would definitely recommend!

The tour just provides boat rides from venice main area to murano and then to burano and back to venice main area. The free time before going to the next area is too little. The boat is nice and clean. The boarding from San Marco is very far from the station, around 30 minutes walk++.

If you want to be lazy for visiting other island of Venice. This tour is the perfect choices. Just need to hop on and hop off. They will get you to the destination.And introduced the location while on the trip.However if you want to spend more time on the island. Public transport is the best choice. This tour do not provide much time on the island.

There are staff on-site to assist, so you don't have to handle the boat tickets yourself. There's also a glassblowing performance by artisans, which makes it well worth the purchase.

I like Burano Island the most. Full of colourful buildings make photo shots so beautiful. Not as crowded as Venice makes me have a pleasant holiday here.

Head to the docks and find the company as stated from the voucher ( you can see the company email address) you need to approach the operators to secure your seats on the ferry. You’re not meeting up with a tour guide who has a name list, just feeey managers. The tour explanation is onboard through the PA system and the glass making demonstration will be given once you’re on Murano.

The weather is very good, to visit the two islands I want to go, very beautiful, the first place to go to Murano, a lot of glass crafts, meeting time is 12:25, see really some group members can not catch the boat, we remember the boarding location, you may get lost. Then go to Color Island, more souvenirs to buy, stay time is 1 hour 30 minutes, time is a bit rushed but worth it

The meeting point is not easy to find, you have to go to the pier to ask to find it. I met at Pier 3B this time, I don't know if it is the same for other sessions. The two islands are beautiful, but the consumption on the island is a bit expensive, basically you can only take pictures.

I wouldn’t really say the guide was a ‘guide’ it was live PA system broadcast during the boat trip to murano and burano in 5 languages, but he did an awesome job. the time spent at murano post glass tour was limited only 30mins max, burano we had a little longer to explore and time to grab a bite to eat. hard to figure out which boat/tour group you are going with as there is so many people and many tour groups. Look for Il Doge Di Venezia on the boats with the winged lion logo. as long as you stay around port 1-3 you’ll be able to keep an eye out for it.
