Fantastic

Stayed with family

We had a “challenging” stay in Paris at the end of June during the heatwave, and honestly, I don’t know how we would have fared without the strong air conditioning in this hotel. The complimentary water fountain in the lobby that offers four different kinds of water kept us alive. We filled our water bottles before we headed out into the heat in the morning, then spent midday cooling down in our rooms before leaving the hotel again in the late afternoon/evening. Paris is not what it once was and I probably won’t go back again, but this hotel was absolutely amazing and made an otherwise so-so trip very comfortable. The bed was super comfy, the balcony provided a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower in the distance, and the staff was very helpful. Please be careful on the subway. I took every precaution with zipper locks on bags, etc. and my cell phone was still stolen.

Below average

Solo stay

It was a basic room. I noticed a few broken things in the room that were metaphorically band-aided. It was hot in Paris at the time. The air barely worked and was not adjustable. The neighborhood is also very sketchy and loud at all hours of the day.

Great

Solo stay

Nice 3 star hotel close to the two train stations (Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est). Clean, helpful staff, and good AC! Nice breakfast buffet. I had the smaller room size but it was clean, and had everything it needs, including a comfortable bed. Inside facing room meant it was quite quiet at night. Only problem is the hotel shows up as 2 addresses on Google maps - one on rue Magenta and another on a different street! So be careful! I never asked why this is, but in any case, be sure you're getting the one on Magenta.

The location is very convenient to the train station. The hotel has convenient water refill station but there was a lot of homeless in the area. Property was clean, rooms are on smaller side but has A/C.

Great

Solo stay

Hotel 2 blocks (short few minute walk) from Gare du Nord in Paris. So lots of great transport connections. Helpful staff. Compact room, but functional and worked fine for a short stay. Air conditioning worked well despite the heat wave. Wifi was also good.

Fantastic

Stayed with partner

We have stayed in this hotel many times and like it a lot--the location is good: near the train stations and has many cafes and restaurants around, plus a covered market over the road. The rooms have a/c, which is important in the hot weather. We have never tried the breakfast as we had a kettle in our room and made our own tea and got a croissant at the boulangerie a short walk away. The "cozy" rooms are small, so we always ask for the bigger room.
