Amazing History | Beautiful Rooms | Delicious Food | Incredibly Personable Staff
We absolutely loved this location and would highly recommend staying here—especially when no cruise ships are in port. Shopping and restaurants are just blocks away, along with the (in)famous 99 Steps and Blackbeard's right next door. The views from both the bar and our room were truly breathtaking. While the property still has restoration work ahead, the quality of what has already been completed is outstanding. If they continue on this path, this will undoubtedly become THE hotel to stay at on the island!

FantasticSolo stay
It’s a stunning, unique hotel. One great way to keep the wrong people from visiting? Tell them that there are no televisions in the rooms! From my perspective, that’s a big plus! And it signals that this hotel, combines luxury, history, and is aimed at the type of traveler who did not come to watch TV..

Walking distance to all the shopping of Charolette Amalie. The most welcoming staff. Very clean rooms, the pool being open 24/7 is an awesome touch. I would recommend this stay to anyone! Especially couples. I wouldn’t say it’s fit for families or elderly-or those with a hard time climbing stairs. A few Minutes drive to the airport and Brewers Beach. YOU WONT REGRET your stay

Welcoming historic building. The staff was friendly and helpful for any in room needs and knowledgeable for recommendations in town for restaurants and shopping. The restaurant was delicious (the restaurant staff was friendly, personable and amazing), we were visited by the head chef/mastermind, mixologist and manager while dining and all interactions were fantastic.
Our room had an amazing view of the harbor, the pool was great to relax and decompress in, the room was comfortable (didn't realize there was no tv or microwave when booking, this only upheld the historic atmosphere and allowed us to disconnect with the outside world and reconnect with the present).
My only "cons" would be the number of stairs, but that is part of the charm and historic value this amazing hotel brings.
I loved our stay on the island, and I loved our experience at Hotel 1829. I only wish we had more time to explore.

Great location, nice hotel we had a great room with a view.
The bad part, no help with luggage. A lot of steep stairs and uneven surfaces.
Unless you’re in good physical shape, it’s a struggle.

Very unique property in an ancient building. The rook was very good and clean with comfortable bed. Ac worked great. Great location in town and close to airport. Not on the beach, but we’re spending the next week on the water
