The area is very lively with lots of nice cafes close by and the ‘hotel’ is only a few minutes walk to the metro station.
The room was budget and perfectly adequate for what we needed on our last night before catching a flight the next day.
Check in involved no human contact at all, which was fine and opening doors is all done via your phone which takes some getting used to but worked fine.
It made me wonder what would you do if you lost or had your phone stolen? I would write down some contact details of the property on a bit of paper to take out with me if I stayed here again.
The room we had was on the ground floor right next to the front door and also next to the door that lets the other guests into the rest of the building.
Both doors were scraping and banging literally every 2 minutes non stop from the moment we checked in!
It was as if the whole of Madrid was coming in and out of the building for hours on end!
As well as these doors banging relentlessly, every time anyone went into the main building next door, that door slammed too. Luckily this didn’t happen too often, but it was still loud enough
The interior door of room 1 definitely needs some kind of sound insulation to try and deaden the sound of the doors constantly scraping and banging because it really is one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had

Clean room, very small. Public bathrooms, one was clogged for a decent amount of our stay. Very thin walls, could hear all the neighbors and everything in the hallway. No air conditioning.

Below average Let me try to be positive for a minute. The price for the stay is very good. You get your own room, shared mixed gender bathroom. All wax Clean.
There is no signage that says this place is an enterprise and if you finally talk with someone, they have never been there. The address is not number 17! It is 17B. The restaurant across the street was excellent but had never heard of the place. The method of getting in is between clumsy and chaotic- there firms are complicated and half functioning.. there is no staff. The quiet after 10 is a myth. If you are traveling with luggage be aware your room could be up or down many stairs (mine was up 16 stairs.
But mostly it took two hours to get into the place.

GoodSolo stay
The place is a good and affordable place to stay in. The only trouble is where I was (room 1, floor1) you can hear everything in the hallway: people struggling to open the door, people banging the door when closing, drunk people who have no care that it’s 3am, street noise, among others. Otherwise, it is a comfortable place to be in.

The room was found very clean, the check-in process is very smooth and all in all we think the price it's very accurate for what they offer. The room is small so if you're planning to use it for work or staying all day I wouldn't recommend it. It's more like a private room only hostel. The bathrooms are shared but they are super decent, and clean. I only put 4 star because you must be aware the walls are very thin and you can hear everything your neighbours say. At night it might be difficult to sleep if you have rude neighbours that don't respect sleep hours. Very close to various metro stations.

1.I felt unsafe when I saw a homeless person sleeping near the aisle...
2.The room is clean, but the light is sad.
3.The soundproofing is very poor.

Surprised to see that I had to share a bathroom. I probably had to read the fine print somewhere.
