Fantastic 5.0
Echo was an excellent tour guide. Even though there weren't enough people for the tour, she still took me alone because she didn't want me to be disappointed, which I really appreciated. It was a pleasure chatting with Echo throughout the trip, and her explanations were very detailed, helping me understand the local customs and culture of Southern France much better. I hope she enjoys her life in Southern France, and I highly recommend everyone join her tours! 😀🫶

Fantastic 5.0
We had a wonderful Luberon day trip with our guide Martina (not sure about the exact spelling). The group was small and very international — I was the only Chinese traveler, traveling alone, alongside a Korean couple and five American friends. It was a really friendly and well-balanced group. Martina was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. She gave detailed explanations about the history, culture, and famous residents of Gordes and Roussillon, and also shared many interesting local stories that made the villages much more vivid and meaningful. Throughout the day, she and the other participants were very considerate and welcoming. I especially appreciated how comfortable and included I felt during the whole trip. I also happened to sit next to Maria and John on the bus, who were very friendly. Overall, it was a beautifully organized tour and one of the highlights of my time in Provence. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Luberon region.

Fantastic 5.0
I'm satisfied with the reservation system, but there isn't much to see inside the Papal Palace. The exterior scenery and the composition of Avignon's buildings viewed from a distance are actually more impressive.

What to know before visiting Avignon

Best things to do in Avignon through the year

Tours and historical sites dominate Avignon’s experiences, with guided Tours leading in bookings and historical sites a close second. Demand rises through spring into a strong peak in May, then eases towards the winter trough in December, so the city feels busiest and most booked-up in the late-spring months.

Which activities suit families, couples and solo travellers

Families will enjoy the accessible rhythm of Historical sites — low-cost, easy-to-fit visits that work well with little ones. Couples often opt for Tours, which range from comfortable mid-range options to more premium guided experiences, making them good for a special outing. Solo travellers and small groups can pick from the wide selection of Tours for everything from introductory guided walks to deeper, higher-end options; historical sites offer an inexpensive and flexible way to explore on your own.

What travellers from Hong Kong tend to book ahead

Most visitors from Hong Kong book with a bit of lead time: planning around two weeks ahead is typical, while the earliest planners lock things in about five weeks out. Booking ahead matters most in May, when demand is at its peak and popular Tours fill up fastest.

How the main categories compare on price and appeal

Historical sites are the easiest and most budget-friendly way into Avignon’s attractions, offering consistently low mid-range prices and straightforward appeal for cost-conscious visitors. Tours sit at the higher end of the scale and also show the widest range of options — from entry-level guided outings to pricier, premium experiences — so they suit anyone from casual sightseers to travellers after a curated or upscale visit.
