Klias River Fireflies Safari Cruise

4.3 207 reviews | 2K+ Booked
Klias Wetland is a mangrove forest reserve and a destination quickly gaining popularity with tourists. Catch it before it becomes a tourist hotspot and experience the best of Kilas while it's still quiet and pristine. One of the major attractions is, of course, the chance to spot the rare Proboscis Monkeys. The tree-dwelling celebrities typically show up after sunset, so make sure you keep your eyes out for them as you sail along the river. You'll also enjoy a delicious dinner onboard and watch fireflies dance in the night sky.

Malaysia is full of secret spots that have not yet become popular tourist destinations. This makes them an absolute heaven for travelers seeking something different, quiet and unspoilt. Weston Wetland is one of the most naturally beautiful areas in Borneo with marvelous views, stunning sunsets and rich wildlife. After your arrival, enjoy a set of light refreshments at the lodge. Go on a river safari and look out for wildlife including Proboscis Monkeys, and soak up the wonderful views as the sun sets. Relax over a buffet dinner then marvel at a night fireflies show before heading back to Kota Kinabalu.

excellent tour! the ride to and from weston was very long, but we knew this would be the case when we signed up for the tour. it was a new and comfortable vehicle. Both Jonas, our tour guide, and Victor, our driver were fantastic. Jonas was knowledgeable and friendly, and Victor took the initiative to help us (gently) catch fireflies during the cruise. My young children (4 and 2) loved that so much. We enjoyed seeing the proboscis monkeys, quite a number of them! they even helped me to prepare a special birthday surprise for my brother. Jonas helped me bring out the cake and Victor took pictures and videos for us. They did such a great job. Thank you so much!

Despite the early downpour, the sky cleared up and I got to see a couple of monkey and also had a very sumptuous meal at the lodge. The sunset was nice as the sky was clearing up. The highlight of the day was the fireflies!! Totally took my breath away. Pictures cannot justify the view. You gotta see it for yourself!

We definitely enjoyed our trip. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable and multilingual as he spoke to us in English and Chinese to the other tourists. The weather was in our favor as there was no moon, and still clear skies. The fireflies were a beauty. First time I saw this much fireflies sparkling at the same time. Also we had monoculars to borrow so that we can see the monkeys up close. Definitely appreciated that. We even had addition of crabs for dinner. :)

Amazing trip, it's take around 2hrs from town to Weston. We saw a lot of proboscis monkey,at least have 20-30. The tour provided tea and dinner, food taste good. The lodge we having our meals is decorated with Christmas feel, after dinner we go for firefly, the firefly was so amazing, the tree is full of firefly .

The place was a bit far from KK City centre but it was worth it. Our guide was helpful, considerate and really nice. The food (refreshments and dinner) was okay, we saw a lot of proboscis monkeys, the bunnies at the lodge were super cute, the sunset was breathtakingly beautiful and the fireflies were magical. Overall an excellent experience.

A great twilight trip, first pick us up from the hotel, take a two-and-a-half-hour drive to the pier, stop for a while on the way to let us rest, go to the bathroom. After arriving at the dock, board the boat to the hut for tea, then Before I set out to see the monkey, the tour guide carefully prepared the telescope for us. He knew Chinese and English. He explained the mangrove ecology in a double voice. He was very professional and offered to help us take pictures. After returning to the water bungalow for dinner, it was raining heavily during dinner. Thunder, because the two potentials are too big, there was a power outage. I was worried that the rain would not stop watching fireflies, but the tour guide said that it would wait for 30 minutes. After the rain stopped, the fireflies would be more. My mood was settled. The result was beautiful, rain. It just stopped, and set off to see the fireflies. It was very much. The fireflies were on the whole tree, beautiful like a Christmas tree. The distance was very close. There were a few fireflies flying into the ship, hoping to go again. Because of the meal. The water bungalows and other tour groups will be more noisy, otherwise the trip is really perfect.
