Set out to the great wilderness of Borneo with this hiking trip to Mount Alab! Explore its diverse flora and fauna as you follow the picturesque trail path. Start the day with a visit to Crocker Range National Park, where you'll sign up at the Sabah Parks registration counter upon arrival. A safety briefing will follow, to be hosted by an expert mountain guide. Listen well because in a few minutes, your hiking adventure will start. After 4 hours of tirelessly walking through thick foliages, find yourself surrounded by natural beauty at the peak of the mountain. Gaze upon a panoramic view of the mountain range and breathe in the fresh air. Head down Mahua Waterfall for an afternoon dip before your ride back to Kota Kinabalu City.
Ditch the city tours with this nature adventure in Gaya Island and Sapi Island! Recognized as parting of the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, both islands are filled with unspoiled natural attractions that you can't miss. Start your experience with a trek to the high mountains of Gaya Island. Just ten minutes off the coast of Kota Kinabalu City, this beauty draws in thousands of tourists annually. Discover why as you walk deeper into its thick, mossy rainforest. Spot exotic animals and plants, as well as rare kinds of hornbills which dominate the place. After 2 hours of trekking, rest easy at the Padang Point where your ride to Sapi Island awaits. Arrive just in time for a barbecue lunch by the beach, which will be served to you right away. You have 2 hours of free time, so make it count by joining the island's water activities. If you're not into extremes, try the banana boats, go fly fishing, or join in the sea walking. But if you're a thrill seeker, don't miss the parasailing and jet ski ride. All these are available to purchase on site. Make these tropical havens your next holiday destinations when you book through Klook!
Awesome trekking and island hopping experience. Our local guide was very knowledgeable and experienced about Borneo nature and wildlife. At one point of the trek we were able to see multiple monkeys climbing the trees. Overall, wonderful experience getting to explore both the rainforest and beaches of Gaya and sapi island.
This tour is worth it for beginners who would like to experience what it feels like to hike in the jungle and up to the mountain. Its exhausting but you will give yourself a tap once the tour is over. Thanks to the Outback Venture travel agent. Gyn and Ezara (Guides) who actually help us throughout the journey, and even feed our stomach with so much nice food.
Note to people who have not been hiking-
1. Its better to spend a little more costly money for hiking shoe with good grips, for safety and avoid any injury, as it could be slippery and loose grips with the rocks up/down the hill.
2. Please ask the guide for the thick stick, the stick will be helpful for you to balance yourself throughout the trail. It is recommended.
3. Wear something that is something you will get dirty with throughout the 2d1N. Water is important, try to carry useful things at the same time not so heavy waterproof bagpack. Dont miss yourself bathing in the waterfall.
Useful important items-
800ml-1L water at least
Hiking shoe with good grips
Sleeping bags (better to have your own)
