We did the full day course and it was so lovely. The farm is amazing and the instructor so nice and welcoming. We cooked 7 dishes ranging from deep fried spring rolls, curry and some mango sticky rice.
I would definitely recommend this activity for something to take up a full day on your visit to Chiang Mai!!
Me and my boyfriend booked this as we had heard that this is a must do activity in Chiang Mai. We got picked up from our hotel on time and the first stop was at a local market just out of town. We split in to 2 small groups of 6 as we met the other Chef for the day, I was really pleased with the size of the group! She explained the different foods and ingredients used in Thai cooking and what we would be using that day and allowed us 10 minutes to browse around ourselves before we continued on to the farm. When we got to the farm I was really amazed by the beauty and size of the grounds, all the facilities are so modern and clean. We were allowed some time to have a look around ourselves after we had selected which dishes we each wanted to make, stored our stuff under our own work stations and put on our aprons and hats. Our chef, Joy, then took us around the grounds explaining all the ingredients they grow there and in which dishes they are used for - it was very informative and was really nice to see they grow all their own produce used in the classes.
We made 3 dishes, a soup, pad thai and a curry. I couldn’t quite manage eating the curry as I was so full from the first 2 dishes and then they brought our mango sticky rice plus the beverage we had each chosen on our sheets earlier. I did manage the mango sticky rice though, it was so tasty and was great to have something sweet to break up the other flavours. The people on the full day course would be making that later after the half day people had left. It was a really fun day as a whole, such lovely people all working there and they give you so much information, I just wish I could of been able to eat everything!
This was by far my favorite activity I did while visiting Chiang Mai. It was an absolute blast! There were only 2 people when I did my class so it was a super intimate session and Nim, my teacher , was the most precious. She explained everything as we went along and the ingredients and what they brought to the dish. She was super patient and even took photos for us. 10/10 would do it again.
Magnificent day!! Very nice experience !! The place is super nice, the garden and the kitchen room! We had taken the whole day and I would have taken more! A must to do in Chiang Mai. Our teacher was called Peanut and he was amazing! Very attentive and like us who were French, he tried to say everything in French and he was very funny! I recommend it to everyone! And in addition we leave with a cookbook!
I loved the cooking class! Our teacher was so nice and funny, she made the class very dynamic. I don’t consider myself a good cooker but the dishes that I made in this class were so good, I think now I know better how to cook Thai dishes than the traditional dishes of my own country 😂. It was one of the best activities during my stay in Chiang Mai.
This is one of that "must do" activities in Chiang Mai. The menu are perfectly though out to cover the most important things! The kitchen is well equipped and super clean! Their knives are sharp and everyone have their own mortar!! Also, everyone is making their curry from scratch. I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied after this class!! By far the best cooking class I've had in thailand over my 1 month trip!! Our chef was really friendly and super lovely. Another thing thaf stood out is the general Chiang Mai information she have us and also all the extra information on the Akha tribe of Thailand! I AM RECOMMENDING THIS TO ANYONE!!!
