This is a 5-hour tour, we started at 10:30am and finished around 3:30pm. I enjoyed this city tour very much, it's a good start to see Vientiane City without any hassle of transportation. Our tour guide is nice, he waited us patiently every time we reached a destination but he does not speak English. These are the places that we visited:
1. Patuxai War Monument
2. Pha That Luang
3. Wat Si Saket Temple
4. Vientiane Museum of Contemporary Arts
Just bring extra clothes so you have something to change when you sweat. Bring water and food. We visited Vientiane on February and the weather is really hot.
I booked Vientiane City Full day group tour. However, a day before our scheduled tour the local operator informed me that said tour package cant push through due to lack of min. # of persons who booked who booked the package. Instead, the operator offered an option to cancel the tour with full refund or to push through if willing yo add USD 26 per pax. I opted to add said amount and push through which I did not resented because it turned out to be a wonderful tour of the city. Our guide Toni was great. His English was good so we understood him well. He was knowledgeable of his being a guide specially the story of every place we went to. Would recommend this tour if one only had a day or 2 stay in Vientiane.
My daughter and I took the tour with Toni and the driver who accompanied him. Very kind people. Toni took us to Budha Park and also to the monuments provided for on the tour. He gave us precious explanations about the meaning of the places and works of art that we found. It was a day of interesting learning about Buddhism and its culture. At night, the company gave me a tender and unexpected surprise: it was my birthday and a person from the company went to the hotel where we stayed to take a souvenir, a gift from Laos. I thought it was so cool! Too delicate. We just loved that day!
