The shop was easy to find as we followed closely to the directions given.
We arrived on a day where there were very few customers. Nevertheless, the staff were patient and took time to attend to our questions. We may not be able to speak Japanese, but there is a Mandarin speaking translator who is really friendly and approachable, and he gave good information on the wearing of kimonos in Japanese culture.
Note that the kimonos in the shop are mainly for casual wear, and not the ones worn by locals for special functions.
There is an on-site photographer who is available to bring you to notable places for photoshoots, at a fee.
All said, this is a wonderful place to start on the culture of wearing kimonos.
The location is inside Tanukikoji shopping street. we took abit long to find the location until we are late 15minutes but they still serve us. we get to put our luggage in their place while we had fun outside take pictures with our beautiful kimonos. the workers there are friendly and able to converse mandarin. There are many selection of kimonos and the workers help you to wear gentlely. The shop near Odori Park and a Shrine where you can go there take pictures. The package comes with a kimono, bag, a pair of socks and shoes. There is no limited hours you can wear kimono but you need to be back by 7.30pm or else extra charge.
Daughter enjoyed walking around in her kimono, with the matching parasol, pretty handbag and a shrug. Bonus was when there was snowfall in the early evening and we were able to get nice photos of her with falling snow around the little girl in kimono. :)
The staff were also nice and attentive. And the add-on hair styling was also cute. Place is easy to find as well. :)
