We regret to inform you that due to the recent worsening of her health, Youmi Kimura will no longer be able to perform at the Studio Ghibli Symphony: Featuring Original Singers - Live in Hong Kong.

In her place, we are honored to welcome the legendary singer Yoshikazu Mera, who performed the iconic songs from Princess Mononoke. This will be Yoshikazu Mera’s first public performance in Hong Kong in many years, making this an exceptionally rare and special opportunity for all attendees.

Statement from Youmi Kimura:

“We sincerely apologise for this unexpected change. Due to my recent health challenges, I am unable to join you in Hong Kong. However, I am confident that Mera Yoshikazu will deliver a breathtaking performance. Please continue to support this wonderful event.” - Youmi Kimura

Calling all Studio Ghibli fans! Get ready for an unforgettable experience at the STUDIO GHIBLI SYMPHONY: FEATURING ORIGINAL SINGERS – LIVE IN HONG KONG concert with a stellar lineup of the original singers featured in the Studio Ghibli movies including Sumi Shimamoto, Azumi Inoue & Yuyu and Youmi Kimura! This is an event you absolutely cannot miss!

On 5 April at Academic Community Hall, Hong Kong Baptist University, these original singers will be performing classic songs from beloved Ghibli films including “Castle in the Sky”, “My Neighbour Totoro” and “Spirited Away”. Get ready to be transported back to your childhood and relive the magic of these timeless tunes.

Leading the concert is acclaimed violinist Takeshi Hashima, principal violinist of the Tokyo Asia Orchestra. He will be joined by 17 top-tier musicians to deliver a breathtaking performance that captures the essence of Studio Ghibli’s enchanting soundtracks.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Castle in the Sky, making this concert a rare opportunity to relive the magic of this timeless classic.
