Affordable Art Fair 2023 Introduction

Affordable Art Fair (AAF) is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Hong Kong. The fair is excited to invite visitors back to discover the joy of collecting art at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18 to 21 May 2023. With the return of international travels, this unmissable edition will showcase an exciting and diverse line-up of galleries, artists and projects.

First opened its doors to Hong Kong in 2013, AAF has been standing with this vibrant city and its art scene for 10 years, making art accessible and affordable to all. Reaching the first- decade milestone, the fair’s mission is more spirited than ever and strives to further empower the talented creativity of both local and international galleries and artists, and introduce incredible art that truly moves its audiences.

Further augmenting the agenda of the fair, a wide array of programmes and projects will be presented in part of an interactive art journey. Young Talent Hong Kong, curated by HKwalls, spotlights the works by passionate young and emerging local talented artists. Special Projects bring along large-scale installations and art performances that pay homage to Hong Kong, inviting artists to showcase their love and passion for this much-loved city. With education as one of its core values, AAF also emphasises the importance of Art Education, bringing workshops and tours to foster and inspire young people to fall in love with art.

RETURN OF INTERNATIONAL CREATIVITY TO SPARK TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ART

Affordable Art Fair 2023 not only celebrates its 10 years of being an annual trademark event, but also acclaim all outstanding artists around the world. The 2023 edition features a strong line-up of over 90 galleries in total, powered by both Hong Kong and returning international galleries from 15 countries and territories across Asia, Europe, Australia and America. Besides a robust list of long supportive galleries, this year’s fair will also showcase over 225 new artists attending for the first time. By bringing diverse works filled with creativity, bold experimentation and expressivity, the fair allows visitors to enjoy a cultural immersion and discover the unlimited potential of art through a fresh pair of lenses.

SPECIAL PROJECTS TO PAY HOMAGE TO HONG KONG

To mark the celebration in Hong Kong, this year’s Special Projects will present large-scale installations that feature some of the most iconic cultures and spaces in the city. The fair would also collaborate with a number of local and international artists to create works that illustrate their vision and interpretation of Hong Kong.
