    1. Gamcheon Cultural Village

    Also known as the ‘Machu Picchu of Busan,’ the Gamcheon Cultural Village is a colorful town with walls that are decorated with hand-painted murals done by the residents themselves and cute corners adorned with flowers (usually cafes or little shops selling trinkets or souvenirs). Don't forget the Little Prince statue (it's so famous that you have to queue for a photo)!

    Besides frolicking in the sea and enjoying the sun, the Haeundae Beach area also boasts two very unique attractions which are the Haeundae Beach Train and Haeundae Sky Capsule. These are fun and ways to explore the coastline without walking. Make sure to book your tickets early though, the sky capsule tickets get sold out extremely quickly!

    A man-made beach, the Songdo Beach has been around since 1930. The best way to enjoy the coastal scenery? On the glass-bottom Songdo Skywalk, where you can walk over water and shoot postcard-quality pics of the lighthouse!

    If you're looking for a tranquil nature spot to unwind and have a picnic, Busan Citizen Park is just the place. Perfect for nature lovers, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy a slow afternoon stroll to enjoy the flora and fauna.
    The park is extra Instagram-worthy during spring or autumn, where you can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms or orange-gold autumn leaves depending on the season!

    6. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

    This temple is a rare find - temples in Korea are usually found up in the mountains, but the Haedong Yonggungsa is located by the coast instead. In fact, it is the only seaside Buddhist temple in South Korea and truly one of the most picturesque as well, with its colorful grand facade against the rugged, rocky coastline and sparkling sea.

    7. Dongbaek Island

    Dongbaek Island is a marvellous vantage point for coastal views of Haeundae Beach and its surrounds. Come spring, this place is also perfect to spot camellia blossoms! It's also where you will find the iconic mermaid statue. Legend has it that the mermaid is Princess Hwangok who travelled across the sea to marry King Eunhye. Princess Hwangok suffered from homesickness and used to comfort her sorrows by looking into a piece of topaz where her fatherland was reflected during each full moon.

    Explore Donbaek Island's surrounds by night on a photography tour, that will take you to Hocheon Village, Hwangryeongsan Mountain, Gwangalli Beach and The Bay 101. You'll get to learn more about the city as well as have gorgeous pics snapped by your professional local tour guide!

    Indulge in afternoon tea at the sprawling cafe with a gorgeous sea view before stepping into the media gallery that brims with digital media and light installations, perfect for more #ootds (think Japan’s teamLab vibes). There’s also the ocean-front bookstore and cafes to wander around and explore too!

    For a fun afternoon out, head to Lotte World Adventure Busan, which just recently opened! Expect six themed zones with rides for all ages. While there are dedicated kid zones, there’s also a few thrilling rides perfect for the adrenaline junkie such as the Giant Dagger which is a roller coaster with multiple loops and turns (a personal favorite) and the Giant Swing (sort of like the pirate ship ride on steroids).
