Studio Introduction

Our studio aims to integrate creativity and personal characteristics into traditional metalwork through craftsmanship. By utilizing the diversity of techniques and the variations of materials, we present different possibilities to the public. Our studio is located in Tsuen Wan, a 2-minute walk from The Mills.

Featured Silver Ring Workshop

-Forging- As an important basic introductory technique in metalwork, from shaping to surface texture, the metal is repeatedly hammered to continuously extend it until the desired shape is achieved. In the ring-making process, different shapes of metalworking hammers are used to learn how to use angles and strengths to create different visual effects for each ring.

-Twist Pattern- Twist pattern rings have always been a popular style, with a subtle sense of endless weaving. As a basic metalworking technique, the material’s center is used as the main axis during the ring-making process. Different visual effects are created through repeated rotations, with evenly distributed textures, simple yet unified, but overall elegant, delicate, and orderly.

Workshop Content and Features

• Understand the uniqueness of metal craftsmanship techniques. Participants can incorporate personal characteristics and creativity into the finished product.
• To provide diversity in the finished product, the designer/craftsman will provide guidance on every detail, both in terms of technique and visual effect.
• The class will provide metal strips of different thicknesses and shapes, depending on the style. The process will include tool introduction, metal cutting, metal twisting principles, welding, and other ring-making techniques.
• Anyone with jewelry-making experience can also participate.
• Activity Date: Monday to Sunday 2:30pm / 7:00pm
