What to expect

The PADI Open Water Diver course comprises three key phases:

  1. Knowledge Development: Your dive center provides materials for self-paced learning, covering basic scuba techniques, terminology, and safety. Your instructor ensures your understanding and progress through discussions and videos.
  2. Confined Water Dives: Conducted in pool-like conditions, you practice fundamental dive skills and safety techniques. These sessions make you comfortable with gear and emergency procedures.
  3. Open Water Dives: These ocean dives are where you put your skills to the test, demonstrating competence and safety. After your instructor’s approval of these four dives, you become a certified PADI Open Water Diver, granting you lifelong access to dive worldwide up to 18 meters.
