Our group of 8 people selected a 10-seater vehicle for ¥12,918 NTD. We paid an additional ¥7,700 JPY at the end (parking fees and tolls not included, which was clearly stated, no problem). The above is the total cost. We chose Route A: • Route A Beppu direction: Kuju Dream Suspension Bridge + Yufuin Onsen Town + Kinrin Lake + Beppu Hell Onsen. First, the advantages of this chartered car: Punctual, proactive contact from the app, the driver drove safely, and the entire trip was safe and secure. The reason for booking this trip was a YouTuber's introduction for a family trip. We didn't buy the JR PASS this time. After reading other buyers' reviews, it seemed more flexible than a personal tour, and there was also a knowledgeable driver who could give advice and plan the itinerary. In the morning, we first went to Kuju Dream Bridge, and then went to Yufuin. There were too many dazzling things, and we were planning to go to Beppu Hell around 3:40-5:00 PM. The driver said there was no time left, and Beppu Hell would close at 5:00 PM. I said it was okay to only see it for half an hour, but the driver then explained that he had to prepare for the return trip and that it would be overtime, and there would be an additional charge for overtime. In conclusion, we chartered a car and departed at 8:30 AM, only visiting Kuju Dream and Yufuin. My suggestion is: I'm not sure how to arrange the time properly. If you had told us before getting off in Yufuin, approximately what time we needed to leave to not be late for the later points of our chosen Route A, we would have planned accordingly. After all, shopping for 10 hours is never too much, but if we were informed of the later itinerary arrangements in advance, we would have been more aware. I don't know when I'll be able to make up for this little regret! Finally, there was a big traffic jam on the way back, and we were delayed until 7:00 PM, but there was no extra charge for overtime. The chartered car was only until 6:30 PM. The driver said that due to the traffic jam, there would be no charge for up to half an hour, but if it exceeded half an hour, there would be an additional charge... Lastly: Also, I saw on the form that the return time was 6:30 PM, and I always thought it was a 6:30 PM return. A small suggestion is to change it to: 6:30 PM is the time to return to the designated pick-up and drop-off location, so we would need to start heading back around 4:30 PM. Of course, I know the chartered car is for 10 hours, but sometimes I can't process it, or I think that chartering a car finally means I can relax and not think. 🤷‍♀️
