Maximized this! 1st day of use : Bus from Tenjin to Beppu(¥3,250); local bus ride worth ¥170 per ride around Beppu . Day 2: Roundtrip bus from Beppu to Yufuin ¥1,880; local bus ride around Beppu; Day 3: Bus from Beppu to Tenjin (¥3,250); local bus ride in Tenjin and Hakata (¥150/ride); RT bus from Tenjin to Tosu Outlet ( ¥1,540). To note: To activate on the day of 1st day of use and should be in front of the ticketing staff so they can print the ticket(bus ride from Tenjin to Beppu). Same with days 2 and 3 activate the day use in front of the ticket staff or bus driver, they check the date: Local rides in Beppu, Yufuin, Tenjin and Hakata no need for reservation just get a small ticket upon entering the bus. Bus rides for Rountrip Beppu- Tenjin and Tenjin to Tosu premium outlets needs reservation ( you can do it online or bus terminal ticket office)
The 2-day Kyushu SunQ Pass is a great value, allowing you to ride buses throughout northern Kyushu. Activate it by entering your email address; you'll receive a password via email. Use this password to unlock the code, which starts the activation. You can then use it to reserve buses to other cities.
I exchanged the pass. I went from Fukuoka to Kagoshima. Sakutajima.. a volcanic island... If you roughly calculate it, the round-trip highway bus fare is 14,000 yen.. In addition, the passenger ship.. city transportation fee. If you add it all up, it's about 200,000 won. It's all resolved with the San-Q Pass.. Today, I bought the pass for 127,000 won for the All Kyushu 4-day pass.. I already saved about 70,000 won in today.. I can still use it for 3 more days. If you are traveling to Kyushu, you should definitely buy the San-Q Pass. It saves a lot on transportation costs and is convenient to use... I highly recommend it...
It's worth getting the bus pass. Unlimited travel & the buses are comfortable for long distance. JR pass is expensive, travelling time is almost the same. It's better to get the bus pass. can use it for Fukuoka city ride. no need to buy subway pass.
trains are not the only choice traveling in Japan. Buses are also well routed and access to many tourist attractions efficiently. I used the 3-day pass and sooo happy about the experience I got. The pass covers almost buses in the region. It's sooooo convenient. I went to Beppu, Yufuin, and back to Fukuoka downtown. Also cheaper than JR pass.
Always a JR pass User, first time trying bus pass. it's so worth it. it doesn't only cover the express bus, also the city buses in kyushu. so convenient. imagine in a day trip, you take the express bus go to kumamoto, after arrival, all the city bus, you can use freely to go anywhere in the city. compare to jr pass, after arrival, you still may need a day bus pass or sth like that. frequency is good for express bus, especially between major cities. only issue is to yufuin, if not booked early, there won't be seats left. worthy option. if I go to kyshu again, I will use bus pass than jr from now on.
Very worthwhile. We bought it online for 2 days. On the first day, when we finished passing through immigration, we took the QR code to get the card and reserved a seat at the counter to Yufuin. Round trip if paying ourselves is 6,500 yen. On the second day, we woke up early to go to Hakata station. 3rd floor, reserve a seat for the return trip to Beppu. Luckily, we got the bus, leaving at 7:30 a.m. Round trip, if you pay yourself, it's 6,500 yen, and in Beppu you can use it to take the bus to jigoku, which is a tourist attraction, for free. Just show the card to the driver. and look at the SunQ pass symbol attached to the side or front of the vehicle. If there is, it's all free. Worth more than worth it. Because I bought the ticket for only 6,000 yen, traveling for 2 days, it's really worth it!!
The weather was very good on this trip. I used the sunq pass for the entire trip. I went to Karashi and took a boat to Mojiko, Itoshima and the bus in Fukuoka city (with the sunq pass sticker), which was very convenient. Please note that if it rains heavily, the road will be blocked by mud and driving will be suspended. I have a 2-day round trip to Beppu stop in June 2024, and I have to go because I have already arranged a hotel. Finally I have to buy JR tickets for round trip. There is no refund after using the sunq pass!
It is a full digital pass. Initially thought need to collect from fukuoka airport and got confused due to that. Explore htb and beppu with this pass. Overall good.
Exchange at Fukuoka Airport. You can inform the staff. If you are going from Fukuoka to Kumamoto, you don't need to make a reservation and can present your ticket. You can use it to travel in the northern Kyushu area. It is great to go to Mt. Aso or take a boat to Shimabara and Nagasaki.
