What to expect
In this workshop, participants will learn about the cultural significance of calligraphy, practise basic brush techniques, and create an auspicious character artwork on premium rice paper. Children can personalise their pieces with decorative stamps, and all participants will assemble their artwork into a personalised Mini Light Box to take home, thus creating a meaningful keepsake that blends traditional heritage art with modern craft
The workshop will be facilitated by Elaine Chan, founder of Inklings (鈴感工房), and a Singaporean artist trained in Chinese calligraphy who has collaborated with National Library Board, National Heritage Board, and Aston Martin, specialising in making heritage arts accessible and contemporary for modern Singaporean audiences
