What to expect
Watershed is a floating sauna experience on Lake Whakatipu, built around the rhythm of heat, cold and rest. Each session invites you to move between a handcrafted Finnish designed sauna, cool room, lake-fed plunge pool and outdoor deck, with time to relax between rounds and take in uninterrupted alpine views.
The sauna is heated using traditional Finnish methods to encourage deep warmth and relaxation, while cold plunges provide a refreshing contrast. Between rounds, guests can cool down in the cool room, rinse off under lake-fed buckets and outdoor showers, or unwind on the deck.
Located at St Omer’s Wharf, just minutes from central Queenstown, Watershed offers a calm, social and design-led experience suitable for all seasons. No prior sauna experience required.

Good to know
Sauna time is typically enjoyed in short rotations of around 10–15 minutes, followed by cooling off in the plunge pool, lake or cool room, allowing you to listen to your body and move at a comfortable pace. Between rounds, you can cool off in the plunge pools, under lake-fed buckets and outdoor showers or unwind on the deck.
