Timothy Sheader (Crazy for You, Into the Woods) directs this mesmerising new production of the iconic global phenomenon, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Originally staged by London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, this reimagined production won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, garnering unprecedented reviews and accolades.
Choreographed by Drew McOnie (King Kong, Strictly Ballroom), with design by Tom Scutt, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by Nick Lidster, music supervision by Tom Deering, and featuring lyrics and music by Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes ‘I Don’t Know How to Love Him’, ‘Gethsemane’ and ‘Superstar’ .

Really lucky to be able to watch this grand musical performed in Singapore. The actors were fantastic and the stage was well made to support the direction and style of the musical!
It was a pretty innovative dramatisation of Judas betrayal of Jesus and Jesus feelings during the last days of his life. The musical was only 2 hours (including an intermission) so pretty short for a normal / traditional musical, but a well done one nevertheless.
Very good! The stage design was exquisite, and the performers were all excellent, with particularly strong singing. There were many clever touches; when I saw the crooked cross being straightened, it sent shivers down my spine. A truly wonderful performance!
We were seated on Row A on Opening Night. The production was Excellent.
we were very disappointed. had high expectations of an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
