Private Ski Lessons in Hakuba Goryu\Happo-one\Iwatake\Tsugaike

My experience at Hakuba skiing was perfect from the moment I made the reservation. I booked the lessons well in advance, and the email communication was extremely efficient. They even created a group chat to confirm everything before we left, which made me feel very reassured. We originally booked the Tsugaike lessons, but the instructor suggested switching to Iwatake because we were complete beginners and the slopes are more suitable for beginners. This decision proved to be very wise! The terrain at Iwatake is very beginner-friendly. This 6-hour course was like a "crash course": We not only learned how to do front and back edge sliding, edge changes, and falling leaf, but we even unlocked straight running! The instructor was very patient and explained the theory in a simple and easy-to-understand way, making the potentially dull movements easy to grasp. Most touchingly, when we went down the mountain, we realized we had left our backpack at the top. After leaving, the instructor returned to help us contact the ski resort staff to find it and even drove us back to the hotel. We are so grateful! I would definitely give it a 10/10. This time, Coach Nai Pi led four children, ranging in age from 14 to 21. Coach Nai Pi was tirelessly patient in teaching each one individually, ensuring that even the weaker children were not left behind, providing one-on-one instruction. The children who progressed faster were also able to ski down the mountain on their own, and everyone felt a great sense of accomplishment. We hope to have the opportunity to have Coach Nai Pi continue to guide them next time. Thank you to the ski instructors.

We had a very pleasant ski lesson with a coach that understands our culture very well, and could communicate clearly and effectively with our girls. They had a pleasant first ski lesson experience, and were picking up the sport in no time. Thank you coach Wang Jiang for your time and attention.

Hakuba Iwatake is so pretty. It’s not as crowded as I thought. Our instructor is Chelsea and she is the most patient and kind person. She can speak english and explain well. I have quite young kids age 7 & 9 and not very patient to follow instruction but Chelsea was very patient to teach and encouraging. We start our practice at 9.30am (suppose to be 9am but we were late getting the rental gear). We practice till about 12.30pm. We didnt go down the slope in the end because our kids were scared and the wind was too strong. We had fun anyway!

Maria was a joy to have for the day… she took care to show us the routes, gave great tips on places to ski and technique and the kids loved her. big thumbs up

We had so much fun, and I think I was able to learn quickly because Luchi-sensei are such an amazing instructor. It’s a pity we didn’t have more time to keep playing because the ski area closed earlier than usual.

I went for the 6 hour private class and it was honestly the best decision I have made. It was my second time skiing ever and I was eager to progress from snow ploughs and learn how to skii parallel as well as turn. Thanks to Maria's patience, insights and guidance, I have become comfortable doing these, though lots of practice will still be requried on my end. Could not have asked for a better instructor! 10/10 highly recommend.
