Kitakyushu One-Day Tour: Karato Market / Mojiko & Motonosumi Shrine & Sarakurayama Cable Car (Departing from Fukuoka)
Affected by seasonal sunset times: In winter, take the cable car to enjoy the night view; in summer, the sunset is later, so when taking the cable car, you will mostly see the sunset or twilight.

- Stroll leisurely through the old streets of Mojiko Port, admiring the European-style retro architecture and port scenery.
- Walk through the red torii gates of Motonosumi Shrine, which extend all the way to the sea, making it convenient for photos and check-ins.
- In the evening, take the cable car to the summit of Mt. Sarakura to see the summer sunset or night view, with a particularly wide field of vision.
- Enjoy direct private car service to attractions throughout the journey, no transfers needed, making the trip easy and worry-free.
- Combining photography, delicious food, and scenic views, the pace is comfortable, perfect for a leisurely experience.
What to expect
Explanation of Motonosumi Shrine Visiting Hours: From March 1st, the main hall of the shrine will be closed for worship on Saturdays, Sundays, Japanese national holidays, and during the periods of May 2nd–10th and August 8th–16th; the red torii gate area along the coast can be visited as usual.
This is a one-day itinerary that combines "sea views + gourmet food + shrine + night views," starting from Hakata, allowing you to easily visit popular attractions in Yamaguchi and Northern Kyushu. With a dedicated car for the entire round trip, there's no need to transfer yourself, making the trip more hassle-free.
In the morning, you'll pass by the Kanmon Bridge for a car view. The bridge scenery spanning the strait, combined with the passing ships, creates a vast panorama. Afterward, you'll arrive at Karato Market for free activity, where various fresh seafood and sushi are gathered. You can browse and eat, choosing freely according to your preferences, making it a relaxed and engaging stop in the day's itinerary.
In the afternoon, head to Motonosumi Shrine. The red torii gates lined along the coast extend all the way to the cliff edge, creating a strong visual impact. It offers both great photo opportunities and a wonderful sea view experience. There's ample time to stroll and take your time.
In the evening, return to Northern Kyushu and ascend Mount Sarakura. Take the cable car up the mountain, and from dusk until nightfall, witness the city lights gradually illuminating. Overlooking the entire night view is the highlight of the entire route. Note: Sunset times vary with the season. Both the sunset and night views are equally spectacular, and we look forward to your visit!
The overall pace is comfortable, not rushed or tiring. You can enjoy local specialties and capture iconic scenery, making it suitable for first-time visitors to this area who wish to efficiently visit multiple classic attractions in one day.
