On March 15, 2025, we had one adult and three children, so we chose two instructors. Lucy was great with the kids. We were surprised that after just two hours of lessons, they could already ski and were able to stop on their own. Despite being quite short-attention-span kids who usually get bored quickly, they managed to ski well. All three of them knew how to stop after just two hours. My son even managed to go up the mountain with me, which was great, even though he still couldn’t turn. Tony also taught me very well; after just two hours, I was able to stop and turn. If we had more time and had lessons for two hours each day, it would be perfect for the kids since they wouldn’t get too tired. I highly recommend both instructors – Lucy was fantastic with the kids, and Tony was excellent with the adults. Thanks again to both instructors for their wonderful teaching! As for the ski resorts, I would recommend Nakazato Ski Resort for kids' lessons because they have a carpet lift that makes it easier for the kids to get up the hill without getting tired. However, we took the kids to Iwappara, and they complained about being tired because they had to walk while carrying their skis.
It is a very memorable experience! We havnt ski before or play snowboard. The coach is very friendly and she can speak mandarin, english and a but cantonese. Her guidance taught us many useful skills and courage. Thank you!!
Shawn the instructor is very dedicated, from pre-trip confirmation to assisting with renting ski equipment and sizing, and basic instruction. Starting from the very, very basics, he can eventually get beginners to learn how to ride the lift and ski beginner slopes (depending on individual aptitude, I'm the type with poor physical fitness). The instructor stays by your side the whole time, making you feel very safe. He doesn't use his phone or do other things, he's dedicated every moment, and there's no unnecessary chatting or awkwardness. He's a perfect instructor for introverts. This time it was for two skis, I chose Yuzawa Nakazato Ski Resort, selected the 6-hour course, and on the second day when I skied on my own, I was already able to slowly, slowly ski down the beginner slope by myself 😂 I'm so moved!
highly recommended for beginnera who whave no.skiing experience. Flor, our instructor, is very professional. My 4 kids were able to learn to ski after 3 hours of tutorial despite the bad weather.
I had a 3-hour snowboard lesson with instructor Quentin. He was an excellent teacher, teaching techniques quickly. He never gave up on me, so I didn’t give up either. Thank you so much, instructor, for pushing me to turn, both heel side and toe side, even though I wasn’t very confident in myself. I highly recommend this snowboard instructor to anyone going to Yuzawa!

The coach sent me a letter to arrange the meeting point. The coach showed up on time. He was very nice and patient with me as a beginner. When I wanted to give up, he kept giving me confidence and help. I finally found the balance point and started to slide down by myself without falling. Without his guidance, I would not be able to learn snowboarding. I must find a coach to practice by myself. It is too difficult.
Booked a 3hr one-on-two snowboard course, 4 days from 1/27 to 1/30. Taiwanese Chinese coach Kevin is experienced, careful and patient. We chose Iwawa Ski Resort for practice on the first and second days, and finished the mountain on the third and fourth days. The coach first took us to familiarize ourselves with last year's skiing feeling, carefully corrected small details, and explained with drawings to make it easier for us to understand. At the end of the course, we can be familiar with the handsome skiing and jumping platforms with front and back edge changes.
The instructor suggested Iwappara resort for first timers lesson which was great. The lesson thought started off with a good safety briefing and she explained to us step by step basic skills for snowboarding. It took quite sometime to get your body familiar with the board and most importantly we had fun! My only concern is the session doesnt last exactly 2hrs as per our booking.
This was an amazing learning experience! I'm a complete beginner, and I booked a one-on-one lesson. The progress I made in just two hours exceeded my expectations 🥹. I highly, highly recommend Instructor Cata; she's incredibly skilled! She can ski backward, guiding me from the front. Not only was she very punctual and friendly, but she also had endless patience. She constantly encouraged me throughout the lesson and found different ways to explain things when I didn't understand. By the end of the day, I was riding the gondola and skiing down various slopes. I gained so much confidence that I could ski on my own in the afternoon. Of course, having an instructor there made me feel much safer and more secure. No words can truly express my joy and gratitude. I highly recommend her to everyone! 👍🏼
