Fantastic 5.0

Sanssouci Palace is a great day trip from our base in Hamburg. Even if the palace is small, the garden surrounding it is awesome!

Fantastic 5.0

The Palace of Sanssouci is great and brings visitors closer to Frederick II. The audio guide is clear and informative. The park is beautiful and magnificent.

Great 4.0

Be punctual! Be punctual! The place is quite large, but after visiting many palaces in Germany, you might find it to be just okay.

This palace feels pretty small and not really worth a special trip, especially with the long drive. Only come if you have a lot of extra time. Remember to arrive at your scheduled time; arriving early won't let you in any sooner.

Fantastic 5.0

Sanssouci Palace is infinitely magnificent, and the park staff are warm and polite, providing thoughtful assistance, especially for elderly travelers. Although the transportation connections require some advance preparation, it is highly recommended.

I received an overpriced ticket through this organization: 24.50 instead of 22 euros for a combi-ticket, and on that day, the New Palace was closed, so this combination was invalid. It was annoying to discover that on the spot. So, it's better to buy tickets directly from the Sanssouci website...

No other palace embodies the spirit of Frederick the Great quite like Sanssouci. The very name—Sanssouci, meaning “without a care”—captures the king’s vision of a perfect retreat. Here, in the heart of his beloved gardens, he escaped the burdens of rule, surrounded by art, elegance, and his loyal dogs. More than just a summer residence, Sanssouci was his sanctuary in turbulent times.Perched above its iconic vineyard terraces, the palace invites visitors into the world of the “philosopher of Sanssouci.” Its lavishly preserved 18th-century interiors radiate grandeur, refinement, and the king’s passion for beauty—his own “Prussian Arcadia”. Book a combined ticket to grant access to Potsdam’s SPSG palaces for a day, with reserved entry to Sanssouci and a bookable guided tour of the New Palace!
