The staff at the Fukushima City Tourist Information Center, where we exchanged our tickets, were incredibly enthusiastic. They had pre-printed seating charts and event details, and waited for us to arrive so they could explain everything in detail. They were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home.

The Fukushima Waraji Festival is a festival held every summer in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is a dynamic event that sees people parade through the city carrying Japan’s largest 12-meter-long straw sandals, attracting many tourists. There is also a dance parade and food stalls, making it a lively festival that represents Fukushima’s summer!
