Kanpachi / Ichiroku Limited Express Train Ticket by JR Kyushu

As soon as I booked my flight to Fukuoka, the first thing I reserved was Kanpachi. All the seats for 1 or 2 people were already taken, so I reserved a 3-person box for 2 people. Personally, I don't eat Japanese food well, so I didn't have high expectations and thought of it as a lunch box for my husband, but it was so delicious that I ate almost all of it...ㅋㅋ It was a day when it was snowing heavily, so the scenery from the train was really pretty. The seats were also very comfortable. They stopped twice in between to hold local specialty events, which was fun. I rode Kanpachi this time, so next time I'm going to ride Ichiroku~~~

Klook and google search didn’t have answers. So share with fellow travelers. Can’t specify seats. Use the printed Final Itinerary” to enter/exit station by showing to ticket counter staff. On the train, can bring big luggage, train has storage lockers. Can get off at Yufuin, but only has stairway. No drinks included with our tickets, only bento.

A very comfortable trip. The tatami room is suitable for family outings. The scenery, food, and souvenirs along the way are exquisite. The stations we stopped at were also worth getting off to walk around and see. If I have the opportunity in the future, I would like to try other unique trains!

The sightseeing train experience is excellent, with stops at two stations along the way to explore and take pictures (Kappa Station and Hera Station). The meal on Wednesday was a Michelin-starred bento box, which was exquisite and delicious! It's really worth taking a trip to Yufuin.

There may be cash back or credit card rewards here. You can evaluate it yourself before placing an order. A few days after booking here, you will receive a letter confirming your reservation. There will be a file called final itinerary. Just bring that paper on the day of the ride. No need to exchange tickets! Platform information is difficult to find. I didn't see it on the electronic billboard at all. The correct way is to show the final itinerary paper to the staff at the gate on the day. It is best to show them the Japanese or photos of Kanjojiroku, because they will look at it for a long time just by reading the English. Just ask them where the platform is. There is no need to go to the service center or something. Those people don't know where the platform is. You can get off at Yufuin. The photo is a four-seater. In terms of the condition of the green car, most of the scenery from Hakata to Beppu is on the four-seater side, but for the experience, I think it is worth taking a ride even if it is not on this side.

The train is beautiful, and the overall experience was fantastic! The weather that day was perfect, with sunlight streaming through the train windows and filling every corner of the interior. The meals on board were made with products from all over Kyushu and were meticulously prepared and delicious (with a thoughtful explanatory diagram included). Next to each seat on the train, there was an artist's creation on display, and even if you couldn't go to every seat to see them, you could learn about the content of the artwork through the QR code link provided. This trip was overflowing with happiness~
