Fantastic

Fantastic
Easy and convenient to book for one-way Shinkansen on Klook! Remember to follow the instructions to print the tickets at the machine and insert both tickets while you pass through the ticket gates. Will definitely book through Klook again in my next trip to Japan!

Fantastic
When you visit Japan, do not miss out on riding the bullet train. Kyoto to Tokyo only took us around 3 hours and the ride was so calm and smooth. its amazing how fast it runs. CON: we had trouble claiming our tickets as most of the information people didnt know and were referring us from one office to another. we spent around an hour finding a way to get our tickets and just got on out platform in time. Tokyo Station is a nightmare if its your first time. book your tickets with your group otherwise you be assigned random reserved seats. you cant choose the carriage and the sear. PROS: overall experience. trains are amazingly punctual (not suprising)

Fantastic
Klook made it super easy to get a hold of Shinkansen tickets. I didn't need to figure out what to buy, etc. at the ticket counter. At the ticket counter, it was also easy since they provide you with a page with a full set of instructions on how to pick up your ticket. Just show the QR code, collect your tickets, and you can board your train.

Fantastic

Fantastic
Book my Shinakansen from Osaka to Yokohama via Klool which I find very convenient. Although you need to collect your ticket at the station's kiosk machine prior boarding the train. There is a step by steps guide provided by Klook through email so be sure to read it.

Fantastic
Make sure to get the tickets at the correct station. We had to get ours at Shin-Osaka station after so many inquiries from station staff. Once at Shin-Osaka stn, obtaining the tickets are easy with thr QR code. Unfortunately you cannot select the seats as they will be pre-assigned at the time of booking. Many yummy bento boxes at the station before onboarding the Shinkanzen!

Fantastic
I was so happy to visit my host family again! Klook made it easy to book the bullet train back and forth and it was a comfortable ride. I was worried Nagaoka wouldn’t be on the list of cities available but it was, so chances are if you’re going to the country side you can find a train there on Klook.

Fantastic
The Klook Shinkansen ticket was incredibly worth it and hassle-free. Simply redeem the ticket at the machine near the train gantry, and you're ready to go. This booking made my trip much more convenient and less stressful, especially since Shinkansen stations can be busy and overwhelming. It's important to note that the Shinkansen is always on time, so I recommend boarding at the train platform 15 minutes or more before your scheduled time. This way, you'll have enough time to locate your car number and seat location. Since everyone on the Shinkansen is in a rush, it's wise to allow extra time to redeem your ticket in case of any potential delays. Overall, I highly recommend this experience. It was superb and made my journey between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo incredibly smooth

Fantastic
easy to use the voucher - just show at the boarding platform. make sure you either have an ic card to pay for the first turnstile (ie. pasmo, suica, etc), or buy the extra ticket pass recommended with this listing - as you will need to enter the main train station with a ticket, before you get to the spacia x platform. highly recommend trying some of the drinks or snacks from the cafe car if you get a chance - the line can get long, but if you have a premium ticket (car 1 or 6?), then you should be able to bypass the general cafe line (which requires obtaining a # to queue)

There are 9 Shinkansen lines in total. Starting from the west of Tokyo, the Tokaido Shinkansen connects Tokyo to Kyoto and Osaka; the famous Nozomi train also runs within this Shinkansen line. The Sanyo Shinkansen line connects Osaka to Fukuoka; it is an extension of the Tokaido Shinkansen that can take you from Tokyo to Fukuoka (Hakata). Panning into Kyushu region, there’s also the Kyushu Shinkansen, operating from Hakata to Kagoshima.

Looking at the north and east of Tokyo, there are 6 more Shinkansen lines. The Hokuriku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen can take you from Tokyo to Kanazawa and Niigata. The Tohoku Shinkansen offers services between Tokyo and Aomori, with 2 extension lines as Yamagata Shinkansen (from Fukushima) and Akita Shinkansen (from Morioka). Finally, there’s the Hokkaido Shinkansen, with services between Aomori and Hakodate.

What is Narita Express (N'EX)?

The Narita Express is a dedicated airport train that runs between Narita Airport and various locations in Tokyo, including Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. It operates regularly throughout the day, with departures as often as every 30 minutes.

One of the key advantages of taking the Narita Express is its speed. The train travels at up to 160 kilometers per hour, allowing you to reach your destination quickly and comfortably. You won't have to worry about traffic jams or delays due to road congestion.

Another benefit of the Narita Express is its convenience. The train has plenty of luggage space, and you can easily store your suitcases in the overhead racks or at the end of each car. Plus, the seats are comfortable and spacious, making for a pleasant travel experience.

What is the Nozomi train?

Famous for its speed, the Nozomi Shinkansen train can run up to as fast as 300 km per hour (185 mph). This bullet train runs from Tokyo Station to Shin Osaka station or Kyoto station. Since it is not covered by the Whole Japan Rail Pass, you'll need to book a separate ticket to ride this train.

Can I take a trip from Tokyo to Osaka or Kyoto?

You can arrive in the west of Japan from the capital in around 2.5 hours. The train stations are all located in the city centre, so getting around is easy. Search now on Klook to check ticket prices and schedules for your Shinkansen tickets to get from Tokyo to Osaka or Kyoto!

Reserved seat: You will get a specified train and seat.

Non-reserved seat: You will get better flexibility as you can take any train for the specified date/route. However, you are not guaranteed a seat and you might need to stand for the journey.

Should I book a Shinkansen/express train ticket or get a JR Pass?

This depends on your travel plans. If you are planning to travel across multiple cities in Japan, JR Passes will offer better value for money.
