Calling Beijing Hotel a five-star hotel is a joke. Its facilities are too old to make anyone's stay comfortable. The table lights are just decorations and cannot be turned on. There was NO air conditioning. Surprise!!! Only air with normal air temperature is sent via a central system. To get cool air, a service person just opened a tiny bit of a window for me. Sad! Towels are like those from motels, thin and small. The carpet looks old and dirty. If it were not for the historical significance of this hotel, I would not have stayed here. Will I come back to stay in this hotel again? Absolutely not.

GoodStayed with family · For leisure
We booked rooms at the Beijing Hotel because we remembered it from 40+ years ago, when it was Beijing's premier hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel is now a shadow of its former self. The occupancy rate at the hotel seemed very low. We were told that heat would only be provided after 11/15. Our rooms were in need of renovation. The food in hotel restaurants was poor, and the restaurants wouldn't allow us to charge meals to our room or pay by foreign credit card. On the plus side, the location remains great.

Below average I usually stay at China World but wanted to try something different. Bad choice. Service wasn't great. Check in was straightforward but they don't bother to help you to get a taxi. Condition of the hotel room was old and worn. I'll much rather book the hotel next door Nuo in future.

Great Very well located you can walk to major monuments. The building is old as well as the rooms. People smoke in the rooms although prohibited

Good Great location near Tienanmen square, forbidden city etc. The hotel has good bones but has definitely seen better days, The bathroom grout etc is shabby and the carpet in the halls has a peculiar odor. The staff was generally indifferent, but then on the last day we finally got someone to help us, and with a smile.

Good Very central location. Easy access to all public transport (subways, bus), walking distance to Tiananmen Square/forbidden city.
