Fantastic

Solo stay

My two night stay here was very restful. The staff were so friendly and accommodating-nothing was too much trouble. My room was very comfortable.

Good

For business

Parking charges were unreasonably high, particularly given the lack of nearby amenities. During our four-night stay, the flat rate of £10 per day—regardless of duration—added an extra £40 per vehicle, which feels disproportionate and poorly justified. The initial interaction with reception was also disappointing. When I raised the issue, I was informed that, because the booking had been made via Hotels.com, no flexibility could be offered. I was further advised that the charge may have been waived had we booked directly with the hotel. This lack of transparency at the point of booking is unacceptable and creates an impression of unfair practice. As someone who regularly arranges accommodation for a team, this experience has significantly impacted my view of the hotel. The inflexibility shown and the lack of clear communication are concerning, and as a result, we will be reviewing alternative options for future stays.

The only disappointing part of my stay was the parking charge. Why? Hotel is out of the way, no would park there unless visiting the hotel or spa

Fantastic
Great stay at Quy Mill for 2 nights. The place was peaceful and well presented and the staff were so helpful. We were running the Newmarket half marathon and had to leave before breakfast, asked about getting something to eat early and a tray of wonderful continental selections arrived at our room bang on time. Food in restaurant was good and couldn’t believe it was £4 a pint at the bar too - bonus!

I think the hotel is probably fine for the money but, like many others have said, the parking charges are outrageous. The first thing you become aware of when you arrive is menacing notices strewn all over the place threatening action against you if you don't pay. It's such an unpleasant and unwelcome thing to be faced with before you've even set foot in the hotel, that it colours your entire impression of the place and says something rather nasty about who runs it. If the management had any nous they'd get rid of it and fold the cost into the room charge. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so 99% of customers have to drive and the idea that it should cost £10 per night in such a location is mean-spirited. It's really all I can remember about my stay and any other recollections I might have aren't worth mentioning because it would dilute the strength of feeling I have about this one element.

Good
Parking is terrible if you stay for more than 1 day, its only possible to pay for 1 day at a time via the ringgo app and its a £60 fine if you forget. Staff just shrug and say its out of their hands. Very poor service, the hotel should provide a better service when no other parking options are available as the site is remote.
