FantasticStayed with friends · For friends and family
Our initial "superior room" was with a tour group and terrible with a bed that sagged. The bathroom was terrible and dirty. It was not possible to change rooms because the hotel was full. The following day we changed to a better room. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

FantasticStayed with partner
Incredibly well maintained and comfortable. The staff are gracious and helpful. The history of the hotel and legacy are served well by how it's operating today. The location is also perfect for Belfast. We're definitely returning.

GoodSolo stay
Previously, hotel staff took your car (for a small charge) and parked it for you. That facility was not available this time. Luckily, I knew my way round Central Belfast and was able to navigate the complicated one-way system to the nearest car park. Strangers to the city, even with sat-nav, could easily get lost.
I was disappointed in the room which I paid £193 for. There was only a very narrow wardrobe for my clothes and I had to move a bulky ironing board to get anything into it at all. The reading lamp at my side of the bed didn't work and the bathroom contained tarnished and worn-out loose-fitting fixtures. The heating guage was hard to understand but I did get my temperature by trial and error. On the other hand, the dinner and breakfast I ate were both delicious and helped make up for the maintenance failures. I recommend that senior management ensure that cleaning and maintenance staff regularly check that things in the bedrooms are in good working order.
