Fantastic
Female receptionist very good with letting us use the toilets and lounge after checkout when we came to get our bags. She even ran after us when she found we'd left something behind.

Fantastic
The hotel is in a super location just a stone's throw from Gare De Lyon. I cannot praise the staff more highly. Friendly, outgoing, helpful and just lovely people. The room was well set up and a comfy bed. Will definitely stay there again.

Good

Solo stay

Pros: My high-speed TGV train from the south of France was 10 hours late getting into Paris; I arrived at the Hotel Aurore at 5 AM. Despite being full, they had held my reservation! Great staff. Room was clean and air conditioned during the Paris heat wave. Bathroom worked. Cons: Room was taken up 90% by large bed. Photo looked different. Not much space to move around. Okay experience, overall.

Fantastic

Solo stay

An excellent stay at this small hotel, very well located near the Gare de Lyon and places I had been wanting to visit like the Cinemateque. The staff was very kind and helpful. Would definitely return and recommend.

Room and bathroom were tiny but that's Paris. It did have an elevator which is a plus. Room was clean and comfortable with a very good breakfast. Excellent location with good restaurants and ease of getting to the train station

Great

Solo stay

Decent for an overnight stay before catching a train. The room was quite dated but functional. The bathroom was newer, but let down by a useless shower attachment. The shower head itself produced good flow so it could have been a great shower, but the shower head would not stay in position to spray upon the person taking the shower - the bracket holding it was totally floppy, so it was only good for spraying the wall.

Good

Solo stay

I had a fairly good one night stay at the Hôtel Aurore Paris GdL. Everyone that I spoke to was helpful and friendly. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived about 1h 30m after the start of check in, but it was ready within 10 minutes. It was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. It was spacious for a single room with a decent-sized bathroom which had a good shower. There were lots of plug sockets and sensible lighting with switches next to the bed. There was a safe in the wardrobe. It was a bit noisy - I could hear trains (not surprising I suppose as obviously it’s very close to the Gare de Lyon) and the aircon was very loud but pretty effective. There was a kettle and a carafe of water in the room, plus a little sweet treat. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the GdL, and there are bars, restaurants, tobacconist etc nearby.
