The room was small, but clean and tidy. The restaurant was great and the staff very friendly. We prefer staying at boutique hotels - especially those with an interesting history. Will stay again next year!

Hidden gem. Location was perfectly walkable, room was cold and clean, staff was excellent; also very close to Big Cedar golf courses. Will definitely stay here for the next Big Cedar golf trip!

The room was clean and comfortable even though it was tiny. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building is very charming. We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant on site but we did order drinks at the bar and enjoyed them on the patio which was lovely. The only negative thing I have to say is that the entire building has an odor that is very off putting. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

GoodStayed with partner
This was just a quick stopover for my husband and I, so wasn’t concerned with amenities. We ate at the onsite pub “Downing Street Pourhouse”. While a bit dog-eared, great burger and service. The hotel itself is quirky and old, which I expected. Bedding was clean and very basic, pretty cheap-feeling mattress. The rooms are tiny, without closet or fridge which, again with knowing it’s an old establishment and is not spending time in our room was ok. But the carpet and furniture throughout were worn and stained. The whole building (especially once the restaurant shut down for the evening) was dank and smelled old. There was a drip from the ceiling outside our room onto the carpet that had soaked a section of the hallways carpet. There were plug in portable dehumidifiers here and there, probably a sign this is an ongoing issue. With some effort this place could be very charming.

Clean room, great staff, close to everything without being too close. Great amenities and local businesses within walking distance. Less touristy.
