Fantastic

Stayed with family

For this American it felt a little bit like being in the Clue mansion. The property has great character. it is clean, well-maintained, and professionally managed. Public transportation (frequent, reliable, and economical) to the airport and Liverpool attractions is accessible just steps away from the front door. Walk a short distance (15 minutes) through a quiet residential neighborhood to find convenience shopping and various locally owned eating establishments. Breakfast buffet is included with the room. The small bar is fully stocked as well, and is reasonably priced for hotel guests. I look forward to my next visit!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, as it was a hot night, there were no fans in the room, and I have to go to the reception to get one, which did not work, and have to change to a second one, which did work. Then I need to go and get the hairdryer, as they are not provided in every room. I guess at this day and age, fans and hairdryers should be in every room. Bed is firm and comfy, so I have had a good night's sleep. Bathroom is newly renovated and a good size. However, the shower does not have anywhere you can put the soap, shampoo, etc, on, and the wall fixture for soap is missing the bottom. They could easily amend this by putting up a small shelf inside the shower. The furniture is wooden and outdated, and could be replaced by more modern ones. The bedside lights are not suitable (they were actually picture lights!) and fixed badly near the bed. They have beautiful huge sash windows, but have blinds and heavy curtains which covered them up. Would be nice to have thin translucent curtains as well to let the light in. TV is fixed high up, and limited channels available. Breakfast is complimentary and continental, so no hot dishes. But for us it is fine as we are happy with bread and ham. The best part is free parking on site, which is rare in Liverpool City. We walked to the Sefton Park (a few mins away) from the Hotel, and got to the Palm House in the Park in 35 mins. Overall a good experience and will stay again, with expectations of an old building.

The hotel is good for the price, however the room we were in lacked any sort of adequate ventilation, we struggled to open the extremely heavy window and had to put a waste bin in the space to keep it open to try and get some fresh air. Our attempts unfortunately didn't make much of a difference to the extremely hot and stuffy room. My pillow was wet due to perspriring . I also found the bedside lights ineffective for reading, and had to move the table lamp from the dressing table so I could read. The pillows were very thin, I did ask for two more pillows which I received after a second request. There were only 2 hangers in the wardrobe ( a few more would have been handy). On a positive, the continental breakfast was good. I would consider staying there again when we visit our daughter, but would try a different room. The staff were very good and helpful .

Great location for seeing our family close by, nice old building, original doors and windows etc, not messed about with too much, unusual these days; generous breakfast, very good value, and all staff helpful and polite. Quiet. Free parking a bonus either at hotel or in streets. Suited us very well. Will stay again

The staff are lovely and can’t be faulted. The room was clean but thats it for the positives. The bed/matress was horrendous, so soft that you actually rolled into the middle with out moving, the pillow was paper thin they might as well of not bothered. The headboard isn’t even attached to the bed so banged every time we so much as coughed. The bathroom again was clean but the shower is tiny, not enough space to raise your arms and wash your hair with out banging your elbows. Breakfast…was questionable…not continental at all. Nothing at all cooked either. We had toast. We had to park on the road as the “parking on site” is 4 spaces and that’s it!! Overall we would not stay again!!
