The carpet in the hallways and room was very worn and coming up in places. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the walls. Someone else's hair was in the tub. The staff wasn't completely outwardly rude, but the two times I spoke to front desk people, they acted like I was stupid for asking questions. The bell hop just stared at me when I went to pick up my order from the desk and didn't say anything. The pool closes at 8pm, which is two hours earlier than most hotels im which I've stayed. It also has a lifeguard, and every hour they make everyone get out of the pool for a "swim break". The cleaning staff were nice. The location was great as it is walkable to the National Mall. Parking is on site, but it's not owned by the hotel. It was $65/night.

If it were possible to give zero stars, that would be our rating. We chose this hotel for its excellent location near the National Mall and U.S. Capitol, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. I’ve stayed in more than 35 hotels over the past five years, both in the U.S. and abroad, and this was, without question, the worst room I’ve ever encountered. We checked in around 5:00 PM and within minutes discovered numerous issues: stained bed linens, discoloration beneath the mattress, a torn bed frame, damaged furniture, and an overall lack of cleanliness and maintenance. We documented everything with photos. The room’s condition completely undermined our confidence in the hotel’s housekeeping standards. Accepting another room wasn’t an option because we no longer trusted the property’s cleanliness. We immediately checked out and booked another hotel that evening. No guest should have to interrupt their trip, search for last-minute accommodations, and endure unnecessary stress because a hotel fails to provide a clean, well-maintained room. Thankfully, our replacement hotel was spotless, making the contrast even more striking. While the location is excellent, it cannot compensate for poor housekeeping and deferred maintenance. Cleanliness is the most basic expectation of any hotel. I sincerely hope management strengthens its quality control, because no guest should have an experience like ours. Based on our stay, I cannot recommend this property.

Staff was great! Very friendly and helpful. Cost for the rooms was very expensive. They should have at least included breakfast with the price.

The hotel is in a great location...that was the best part. But, the hotel is old and in great need of remodeling/refurbishing. There are noticeable stains on carpeting, walls, and missing hooks/knobs in the bathroom. The hotel staff does a good job cleaning though. The front desk is not very attentive...went to the desk a couple of times and had to wait for the person to stop scrolling on her phone before she looked up.

This is a very super busy hotel with lots of convention style guests coming and going. Decent location and it’s clean. The pool was closed during my stay.
