GoodSolo stay
Located Centrally but in a very busy street.
Room door didn’t shut so I had to pull it every time to make sure it’s not staying open. Bathroom design makes hard to use it. Door opens into the sink and I had to close it to use the sink. Carpets are old. The air conditioner unit start leaking water for 10 minutes suddenly. It was luck that my suitcase was not under it.
Elevator was slow and noisy. At one point the lights were about to go out inside and make it scary.
Restaurant is good but it serves Indian food. Management seems to be Indian. Lobby is clean. Value for money?

Liked the hotel restaurant and staff! Wish the bathrooms were bigger. Also, room cleaning is only every 3 days (can request sooner whenever, which we did) but our sheets were not changed once and our pillow cases had hair on them when we arrived.

Great location! Right by the Manchester Picadelly train station so super convenient and the room was super cute & satisfying for a solo traveler like myself. Staff was great as well!

Turned up slightly early to see if I could check in in before 3pm. I work around the corner and just wanted to chill for lunch break if possible.
It was 13.40pm, and No, I couldn't check in without paying an extra charge. I didn't hear if it was £10 or £20 extra, but I decided not to pay another charge.
Both the nearby Gardens and Brittania hotels allow me to check in early without a charge
I'll probably stay there in future...

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Portland by Sunday Hotel in Manchester's Piccadilly area. The location is excellen right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly Station, the Opera House Theatre, and plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops.
The hotel has a quirky character with fun décor throughout, featuring sunglasses, umbrellas, boots and weather-themed displays, which gives it a unique personality. The staff were all warm, welcoming and very helpful
We stayed during a heatwave, but the air conditioning in the room worked brilliantly and ensured we had a comfortable night's sleep. We paid an extra £10.for a late checkout, giving us an extra hour in bed after a night out in Manchester, and it was well worth it. We also paid just £4 to store our two bags after checkout, which allowed us to enjoy an afternoon of shopping without having to carry luggage around the city.
Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, we enjoyed a few beers in the bar while watching the World Cup, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable.
The only minor downside was the room entrance. The hallway between the door and the sleeping area is quite narrow, so larger guests or anyone using mobility aids may find access a little restricted. It certainly wouldn't put me off staying again, but it's something worth being aware of.
Overall, this is a fantastic hotel in a superb central location with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent value f

Used dirty underwear in the bag that held the hairdryer, Pillow slips dirty and it was that noisy I dont think I closed my eyes once. I went to reception at 4am and there were 3 other people queuing to complain about the noise.
