Oaks Brisbane on Charlotte Suites

My partner and I stayed at Oaks on Charlotte for a holiday and a major event in Brisbane, and it completely ruined our trip. The plumbing here is a literal safety hazard. The shower constantly violently fluctuates between freezing cold and scalding hot water every few seconds. I had to physically jump out of the shower to avoid being burned, which made showering in 15-degree winter weather absolutely miserable. Management claimed it’s a systemic building-wide issue, meaning the whole property is unfit for purpose. To make matters worse, the bed configuration is incredibly uncomfortable—just two single beds shoved together with a rock-hard ridge running right down the middle, making it impossible to get comfortable or even cuddle. On day one, our toilet broke and we had our privacy disrupted multiple times with maintenance coming in and out. When we complained about these compounding issues, the staff's "solution" was a room change that required us to check out at 11am and wander the streets in limbo until 2pm on the exact day of our major event. A hotel room's primary purpose is a comfortable place to sleep and wash. Because this room failed dangerously on both fronts and management offered such a disruptive response, we had to invoke our rights under Australian Consumer Law, check out early, and demand a refund. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else in the CBD if you value basic comfort and safety.

Enjoyed our stay. Front desk were great when checking in. The room was great. Unfortunately the elevators were out for our floor the second day. So waiting for elevators took a while as they were often full. I know elevators have to have maintenance but having to haul our luggage up 8 flights of stairs to get to the elevator to take us down to the lobby was not ideal. Made me wonder how elderly people would cope or if people were in a wheelchair chair.

Comfortable and central. But 5 stars comes through the front desk. Made you feel they cared about guest experience.

The apartment is very well equipped, if rather run-down. At 40th floor, the view of the city both in the day and at night is beautiful. But sound and smells sometimes travel up.

The facilities here were very good. The furniture and wheel carpet was fairly new. The kitchenwas well equipped. There was a convenience store directly across the road and a supermarket. Two blocks away the apartment we had was very comfortable spacious and we’re very happy with it. There was some construction going on outside, which was a little bit of an issue. We did have a couple of other problems that raise their head through no fault of anybody and the manager at Oaks fixed everything for us thank you so much Clarissa and team for all your help.

Excellent location for exploring Brisbane

Left some expensive perfume behind on vacate. Honest cleaning staff handed in. And hotel mailed to us straight away. Thanks
