Met expectations for a motel. The ocean is across highway so need to drive or walk across a highway to approach beach.

I would easily pick this inn over any other in this neck of the woods. The owner, the managers made me feel right at home and very welcome. Terrific location too.

I don’t know why Google Maps describes this place as a two star hotel. Hosts were very receptive at check in and gifted us cookies and other trinkets, parking was easy, the bed was large and comfortable, and the tv had a good set up. It is a great stop on highway one to wake up, do Hearst Castle early in the morning and continue the drive. Nearby Cambria has great restaurants for dinner too. Would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful folks at the front desk. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Smart TV, microwave, coffee maker, and cool red retro mini-fridge with freezer were nice to have in the room. Yummy cookies provided upon check-in, two free water bottles in the room and continental breakfast (pastries, breads, fruit, coffee, etc) were also appreciated. Location is terrific if visiting Hearst Castle. We’d stay there again.

Staff was very kind and friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. Large, clean room with all the amenities. Clean indoor heated pool. Family-friendly. Good coffee in the morning with snacks.

The owners were super friendly and hospitable. The room was clean and cozy with a fridge and microwave. Memory foam mattresses offered a comfortable night's sleep! Delicious locally roasted morning coffee and croissants served in the lobby. Perfect kid-friendly stop on a family road trip with easy access to San Simeon (elephant seals 10 mins north), Big Sur, Morro Bay, etc.

Solo stay

This is my second stay at Coast Riders. I was there in 2025 with my wife before the PCH opened up. I said I would be back when it opened. I stated this time on the motorcycle. Both stays were excellent. Top notch staff and accommodations.

Great Customer service and amazing room. The front desk guy (sorry, i forgot his name) was really cool. Upon check in, I got a some souvenirs and a treat which was a pleasant surprise. The vibe of the lobby was motorsport and motorcycles which was very cool. The only negative feedback I would have is that the walls are pretty thin or at least the room with the adjoining door. We definitely could hear our neighbors which didn't bother me too much. I can't speak for the rooms without adjoining doors, but if you want more privacy, I would say make sure to book a room without connecting rooms. Overall, its a steal for the price! The EV Charger was a nice bonus too! Definitely would like to come back.

Here’s your 12-sentence review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Perfect Home Base for Your Hearst Castle Adventure If you are planning a visit to Hearst Castle, look no further than Coast Rider Inn — it is without question the best-located accommodation in the area. Situated just minutes from one of California’s most iconic landmarks, the convenience factor alone makes this inn an absolute no-brainer for any traveler. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you immediately sense that this is a place that genuinely cares about its guests. The staff here are not just friendly — they are extraordinarily warm, welcoming, and go far above and beyond to make you feel right at home. Every team member we encountered greeted us with a smile and was eager to assist with anything we needed, day or night. The rooms themselves are immaculately clean, reflecting a standard of housekeeping that rivals much more expensive hotels. Every surface, corner, and fixture was spotless, giving us total peace of mind throughout our entire stay. What truly set Coast Rider Inn apart, however, was the most incredible sleeping experience we have ever had on the road. The mattresses are in a class entirely of their own — plush, perfectly supportive, and so comfortable that we actually looked forward to bedtime every single night. We woke up each morning feeling completely refreshed and ready to tackle the breathtaking tours and sights that the Central Coast has to offer.
