Fantastic
The rooms with two beds were spacious and clean and with secure access to the room and the building. The fact that one can easily walk to Arthur’s seat, Holyrood Palace, or the Royal Mile (about 1/2 hr) and is close to cafes/restaurants are a big plus along with having a free on-site breakfast included, a market shop in the conference center, and delicious food at the Abacus restaurant on site. The downsides are that the mattresses are not comfortable-only six inches thick and hard. Also, there are no fans or AC in the rooms so keep this in mind for hot summer months.

Fantastic
The accommodations were located right in the heart of Edinburgh next to Arthur’s Seat and walkable to everything, safe and beautiful neighborhood and free breakfast every day at the campus restaurant. While the rooms are simple, they are clean and safe and it was an excellent stay.

Good
Staff were super kind. The towels/linen seemed to need a bleaching or two but I always bring my own when I stay in budget accomodation so it wasnt a problem. The lift was out for two days while I was at Grant house on the fifth floor… the staff were doing everything they could to fix it but sometimes bad stuff happens. The breakfasts was quite good (apsrt from coffee) but I wouldnt eat any other meal on campus (from my limited experience). Rooms were big enough and quiet enough. No A/c of course but the windows let in a nice enough breeze in late July. Well worth the price.

Fantastic
The location of the property is ideal. Staff are friendly and helpful. It was abnormally hot during our stay and property does not provide fans therefore the room was hot at night. Breakfast was included which was great.

Good

Solo stay

Accommodation itself was difficulty to find ie the precise location on the campus. Check in was chaos. Very long queue of guests which was out the door. Was very warm also. Very little info at check in - probably because the staff were trying to deal with the queue and it all felt transactional. The room itself was fine and I slept reasonably well. Could hear noise from the hall and adjoining rooms. Some toiletries would have been nice. The breakfast was ok, nice choice of fruits and meats. Dining hall was loud. The price paid was decent compared to other places in Edinburgh.

Stayed with family · For friends and family

The staff were really helpful. The breakfast spread was great. The dorm beds were really uncomfortable and I should have anticipated this! Also should have realized that there would be no shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer. Hand soap pump and a small bar of soap were provided. The buildings and grounds were good.

Stayed 2 nights here in an ensuite room. Room was quite spacious and very quiet. Walkable to Old Town but also plenty of public transport available. Would definitely use again if returning to Edinburgh in the summer

Great

Stayed with partner

For a university dorm this property was very well maintained. The rooms were quite simple but comfortable. The breakfast had a huge selection on the buffet. The bus stop was close and convenient to get around town.
