We were looking forward to an overnight stay close to Heathrow airport so chose Staines. Check-in went well and we were happy to pay for overnight parking. The riverside setting is very nice but when we got to our room the bathroom ceiling was entirely spotted with black mould. After taking a shower my eyelids started to swell, something I’ve never had before. So We decided to ask for another room. This was done without much fuss, but unfortunately this room was in poor condition, uncomfortably hot and the bathroom was stained and had dead flys on the sill. Pay the extra and try The Bolyne Hotel instead is my recommendation.

Very clean and comfortable room. Fabulous view of the ri et. Staff was professional, friendly and very helpful. Loved location as an easy walk to High Street with cafes and shopping. Will definitely stay again when in London.

Good The hotel was clean and basic.
Could do with some attention to areas and new paint work on certain areas.
Air conditioning in all rooms would be helpful. Ours didn't and was very hot.
The bathrooms could do with a bit more of a update.
Shower was very good but the bath was old. Putting a slip mat in very old fashion but safe with this.

Below average The hotel is on the Thames but that's about the only nice thing about this place. Be prepared to walk along dark narrow hallways and up steep stairs. If you like Victorian boarding houses then this is the place for you. I booked in on a hot night, no air-conditioning. I managed to open one window which almost came off its hinges. They were kind enough to provide a plastic fan that circulated the hot air around the room. I slept and woke up and went for a lovely walk down the Thames then packed my things and went to a different hotel. You have been warned

The Staff was great very friendly. This hotel doesn't have air conditioning or elevators. So, it may be better to stay here in the cooler months. The fans did not do much against the heat, or the heat wave that London was experiencing. Plus side it was near a mall so getting items was convenient.
