Fantastic

Very walkable to restaurants and shops and even the ferry dock. Galway is such a lively town. Madison place was easy to get to and clean.

Great location a few minutes walk from Eyre Square in the center city. However, the rooms on the top floor are small and under furnished: no closet, just a very small coat rack and no bureau drawers, plus no countertop space in the bathroom - you will have to live out of your suitcase. Also the top floor rooms are built under the sloped roof making the room an exotic but cramped garret, and dangerous - easy to stand up under the low roof and hit your head.

Place was exactly what the phot looked like and place was very nice for the one night stay. Galway was a beautiful town and wished we would've book another night there.

Even though it was like a secret code to get through several doors the room was wonderful and the best night’s sleep I’ve had on my weeklong trip through Southern Ireland.

Perfectly fine, safe place to stay. Bathroom was a bit small, but the fixtures were clean and modern. The location was hard to beat. The entryway from the is not obvious

Three things you need to know about the Maddison House 1. It’s TINY Think “Harry Potter’s cupboard under the stairs,” but less whimsical. You’ll play a daily game of Suitcase Tetris just trying to unzip your bag. The bathroom is spotless—but unless your shampoo is self-standing or sentient, it’s going on the floor. There are zero surfaces. Your toothbrush may end up sleeping in the sink. 2. The Beds (Term used loosely) Each “twin” bed features a single limp pillow, the emotional equivalent of a handshake from a Victorian ghost. The mattress is firm in the way concrete is firm. Pro tip: pack ibuprofen like you’re heading to a music festival in the early 2000s. 3. The Noise Sleep? Bold of you to assume that’s an option! If it’s warm, you must choose: open the window and be serenaded by ale-soaked philosophers shouting their dissertations to the alley, or shut it and marinate in your own heat. We tried the obvious solution—join them for a few pints ourselves. Did it help? NO. It just made the pillow seem sadder. But the BIGGEST ISSUE is the slamming doors. You will think a moody teenager has retreated to her room. SLAM! SLAM! SLAM! ALL NIGHT LONG and then again ALL MORNING LONG. Other than that? Absolutely stellar location. Just try not to cry while you’re enjoying it.

Definitely would book here again if I ever return to Galway. Loved the location and it was a lot easier to access than it may sound at first.

Fantastic location, easy to walk to many sites in Galway. The room was clean and comfortable, and the host very responsive. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Room was tiny. No reception. We never saw anyone that worked for the hotel. This was especially a problem when some people staying at the hotel got locked out at 3am and spent half an hour banging on the door trying to get someone to let them in.
