FantasticSolo stay
131 The Promenade is in an ideal location to explore Cheltenham and the surrounding areas. Easy to get to and set on a lovely wide avenue. The Terrace restaurant has a good choice of meals, suiting everyones taste. Thre is also the splendid Kojo's restaurant which has an atmosphere reminiscent of the orient. The Gin&Juice bar is exactly that. Lively atmoshere and and endless variety of gins and cocktails

Loved this boutique hotel and the restaurant The Terrasse. Beautiful building and decor. Very well located in an elegant and convenient neighborhood.

Below average There is a bar at the hotel that blasts music till really late at night. If u r looking for a quiet rest this is not the hotel for you.

Fantastic hotel, but you have to be prepared to meander through an assortment of corridors and flights of stairs to get to your room sometimes... Not always easy with no lifts available and when carrying lots of luggage. Rather than a business stay, might be better for a romantic night away. Both restaurants are exceptional.

Not sure where to start, I know 131s well as go there a lot with friends. Took my wife to Cheltenham to meet some friends and thought we'd book a plush room and treat her. Bathroom was lovely with a double shower, room didn't feel like the superior room at all, not much room there. I wondered why the ear plugs were by the side of the bed, I thought it was for consideration....
My wife went to the bathroom and couldn't get out without me pushing the door (room 26). There were stains on the sheets. We got back in at about 2am and tried to sleep, I couldn't work out which of the 4 air conditioning units could turn the room down from 25 degrees. Eventually I turned them off and opened the windows, we were woken up every 15 minutes by a noise that sounded like a coffee machine (that didn't work, other than a dribble btw). The noise was the wine fridge which had been left open (not by us!). When we closed it, after waking up about 5 times, we were still woken up by it recalibrating, eventually I turned it off at the plug.
When we finally got to sleep the seagulls woke us up through the open window (see a/c comment), and then the recycling of loads of glasses woke us up again.
When I complained, I was not offered an apology or any sort of compensation, just a "thanks for the feedback that helps us", yes, however, it didn't help me. What a frustrating experience in what was a well marketed and highly reviewed hotel.

Love the bed and the bathrooms. Breakfast was unfortunately not included so didn’t have a chance to try it. Cheltenham was great - unfortunately the hotel is a nightclub at night and the noise was incredibly loud. I wish the check in staff had advised of the loudness and offered to move us. We were given the “Expedia room only” so I imagine it was louder and smaller than the pictures online because we didn’t book direct, which is unfortunate. I feel hotels shouldn’t discriminate when being booked using a third party site, especially at the price point of this hotel regardless of booking direct or third party.
