The French Marquis de Sade has extraordinary literary talents, but his themes are deviant. Even though he was imprisoned in a mental hospital, he still continued to create tirelessly.

But his creations are so appalling that both the mental hospital and the Marquise want him to be silent.

In real history, the Marquis de Sade was indeed imprisoned in a mental hospital. American award-winning screenwriter Doug Wright took advantage of the topic to boldly create "Satan's Pen" to discuss taboo issues such as censorship, sex, and violence, and won the Obie Award and the Writers Guild Award. Later, the stage script was adapted into a movie, which was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at Oscar and Golden Globe Awards.
