Rent a car in Perth
Explore Perth at Your Leisure
Renting a car in Perth offers the freedom to explore the city's attractions on your own schedule. Take a drive to Kings Park for stunning views of the city skyline, or venture out to the Swan Valley for a day of wine tasting. With your own set of wheels, you can also easily reach the beautiful beaches of Cottesloe and Scarborough, or take a trip to Rottnest Island by driving to the ferry terminal in Fremantle.
Inspect Your Rental Car
Before you leave the rental lot, thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any pre-existing damage. Document any scratches, dents, or other issues and notify the rental agency to prevent any misunderstandings when you return the car. It's a good idea to take pictures or videos as proof. Familiarize yourself with the rental agreement's details, including mileage allowances, fuel policies, insurance inclusions, extra fees, and driving area restrictions. Most companies expect the car to be returned with a full tank of fuel, so remember to refuel before handing back the keys to avoid additional charges.
Child Safety Regulations
In Australia, child safety in vehicles is paramount. Children under seven years of age must be secured in a child restraint or booster seat appropriate for their size. When booking your rental car in Perth, check with the company if they can provide the necessary child seats, and confirm availability at your pickup location. Not having the proper child restraints can result in fines and put children at risk.
Avoiding Traffic in Perth
While Perth is not as congested as some larger cities, it's still wise to avoid peak traffic times, typically between 7:30 am to 9 am and 4:30 pm to 6 pm on weekdays. Plan your travel outside these hours when possible. If you're driving in the CBD, be mindful of one-way streets and bus lanes.
Navigating with Ease
Perth's road system can be navigated with relative ease, especially with the help of a GPS navigation system, which is often included in rental cars. This technology can guide you to destinations like the Pinnacles Desert or Margaret River, allowing you to enjoy the scenic routes without the worry of getting lost.
Convenient Pickup Locations
Perth has several car rental agencies located at Perth Airport and throughout the city, offering a range of vehicles to suit your needs. Whether you're arriving by plane or already in the city, you'll find it convenient to pick up your rental car from established providers, ensuring a smooth start to your journey.
Driving in Perth
In Perth, as in all of Australia, you'll be driving on the left side of the road. Road signs are usually clear and in English, making it easier for international visitors to navigate. Be cautious of cyclists, particularly in the city and on shared paths. Always stop at red lights and at railway crossings when signals indicate an approaching train. Remember that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offense in Australia, so always have a designated driver if you plan to drink.

Fantastic Hiace Toyota 7 day
The car rental counter was not opened in the Terminal. Had to visit the office located in the open-air carpark at the airport while there was a sporadic downpour upon our arrival. No fuss for the return of the car.

Fantastic Corolla Hybrid Toyota 9 day
I was very satisfied with this car rental. I originally wanted to rent a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, but unexpectedly, the store gave me a free upgrade to an SUV model, which was a new Subaru Crosstrek. The car was excellent, with only a few thousand kilometers on it, and it had Apple CarPlay, cruise control, and lane assist, which is very suitable for highway driving. The whole family was able to sit comfortably.
