From land to sea, and even in its skies, the United States offers a lot of exciting destinations from coast to coast. If you’re looking at how to start exploring this massive country, we suggest heading on down to the West coast, in sunny California, where you can find the city of San Francisco.
Being a city as iconic as it is, adventure lies in every part of San Francisco. From the exquisite Palace of Fine Arts, the iconic Fisherman’s Wharf, and the astounding Golden Gate Bridge, no one will ever find themselves bored when they visit the city. But after the busy adventures, sometimes a bit of peace and quiet sounds a bit nice, and luckily, there’s a slice of paradise that can be found just a few hours away from the city.
So if you find yourself in ‘Frisco and yearning for an adventure outside the urban jungle, come and marvel at the beauty of nature at the Yosemite National Park.

Located about 170 miles from San Francisco, Yosemite National Park is one of the United States’ most famous national parks. It’s situated in the heart of the Sierra Nevada range, covered with almost eight miles of granite walls, along with its many landmarks.
It’s also a haven of biological diversity, with 95% of the park being designated wilderness! The word “Yosemite” comes from the name given to the Ahwahneechee, who were the resident indigenous tribe in the area. Established in 1890, Yosemite is the US’s third oldest national park, and was also established in 1984 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
