  • London for Locals - Rediscovering the City

    The London Eye
If you’re looking for a city that has everything you could possibly hope for (and probably a hundred things more!), then London has to be top of the list. Just look at the facts… 🏛 170 museums 🎭 230 theatres 🖼1,500 galleries  🍽 40,000 restaurants  🍻3,500 pubs And that’s before you get into the countless pop-ups, evening events and outlandishly good coffee shops that help attract 30 million people to the English capital each year! (Oh and for the sake of this post, we’re choosing to ignore the volcanic temperatures of the tube, the overpriced rent and the fiendishly expensive outlandishly good coffee! Thanks for understanding 🙏)
Anyway, despite all these magical things, for some reason, the first year of excitement and childish enthusiasm for the city and its surroundings seems to wear off and Londoners become blind to so much of what the city offers. They shun the Shard, put aside St Paul’s and neglect Notting Hill Gate.   But no more! Because yes, London has plenty of tourist hotspots (and most touristy things are like kryptonite to most Londoners), but tourist hotspots are popular for a reason dammit, and we want Londoners to rekindle their flame with the big smoke and (re-)discover what their magical city has to offer...

London Eye (Westminster / Waterloo /  Embankment station)

The centre-piece of every British NYE and one of the most iconic parts of the London skyline, take to the skies to look out over the city as you plan the rest of your day! 🎡

The Shard, SE1 (London Bridge station)

And while the tallest tower in Europe looks spectacular from the outside, the views of the city from inside are pretty much unbeatable! 🏙
    The Shard

    Westminster Abbey (Westminster station)

Nestled away out of sight from the Thames and the main tourist trail, the world famous Westminster Abbey is sure to ‘wow’ visitors and locals alike with its 1,000 year history and infinitely Instagrammable stained glass windows 😍

    BodyWorlds (Piccadilly Circus station)

With a fascinating blend of science and art, BODY WORLDS is a mind-blowing' 'unforgettable' and even 'life-changing' exhibition that’ll keep kids of all ages entertained! 🧬
    Bodyworlds

    Harry Potter Walking Tour (misc)

Before you say anything, don’t pretend you don’t like it! The HP franchise (books and films) is as iconic a piece of pop culture as you could hope to see! Adventure, trepidation and bag of magic - what’s not to like?? So leave the broom at home and join in a walking tour to explore the more famous parts of the city ⚡️

Tower of London (Tower Hill station)

Gruesome histories of murder, betrayal and everything in between - perfect for a relaxing weekend, right? Jokes. I mean, while there’s plenty of terrible tales to accompany a tour of the country’s most famous tower, the history is fascinating and the guides are first rate. A guaranteed crowd pleaser! 🏰
    Tower of London

Emirates AirLine (North Greenwich / Royal Victoria station)

It’s a speedier and more scenic alternative to taking the tube or hopping on a bus, so next time you want to get across the river, book yourself a ticket and enjoy spectacular views as you soar like a bird over south-east (but without all that pesky flapping business)! 🚠  So there it is, London - (nearly) everything you need to get back out and start (re-)discovering the city that you used to chase around so eagerly!
    Emirates Skyline
Now, if only there was a one-stop shop where you could get tickets to all these things! Hhmmm - now wouldn’t that be nice...
