    Gin tasting tours
We’ve all been there, grand plans for the weekend fall away into a Netflix binge (Hello, ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’) and a bottomless bag of Doritos. Well put down the remote, lick the cheesy dust from your fingertips, we've got your next weekend plan sorted and it looks a little like... a ‘tour’!
Woah, don’t click off just yet, we know what you’re thinking...

But don’t worry, the tours we’re talking about aren’t huge groups led by an anorak and an umbrella, think of these more like experiences related to some of your favourite things in the world. Tours just became the cool COVID safe thing you should do, and here are 10 reasons why...

    1. Become a hit on ‘Zoom’ parties with your new found boozy knowledge

    Man drinking large beer
Always a good idea to start with the booze, right? Immersive and lots of fun Gin distillery experiences, wine tasting and good old fashioned Beer tasting pub crawls are a great way to spend a boozy Saturday afternoon and are perfect for disguising you and your mates weekend day time drinking.
Tour the facility, learn the history of the sweet elixir (pretend you’re listening) and have a taste or two. All of our boozy tours have been given the ‘Good to go’ badge which shows they are compliant with the latest Government COVID Safety guidelines.

    2. Football clubs (for once not a world of disappointment)

You might not be able to get to the games at the moment but you can still experience the footy stadiums, for the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and so many more. Better yet, go behind the scenes, walk the tunnel, and step out onto the same hallowed turf as the players who let you down week after week after week… ( Derby fan, sorry!). Great for a group of mates or as a gift for others - especially if they’re a fan of a rival team… ooh, we are naughty!

    3. Food experiences with free calories… well sorta’

What if we told you that a Cheese crawl around London was a real thing? Are you still here…? Gone to book already? We’ll just talk to ourselves.
Food tours are an awesome way of trying dishes from diverse cultures offered by some of the top restaurants and stalls around the UK. And they might just give you some inspo for your next ‘Bake off’ session or perhaps they’ll help you ‘wow’ the other half with accurate knowledge of what the hell cumin is used for.
Grab your mates and try a food experience. Did we mention they’re walking tours, so the calories will barely count!

    4. Ooh I could murder a good weekend activity

    No stain=no murder
Well look no further for your mystery, murder, blood and gore fix for little more than a tenner. Bloody good value, if you ask us! Okay,  we'll stop with the puns now. The Jack the Ripper tours in London have been consistently voted as one of the best experiences. Make your way through dark alleyways and passages as you visit the actual locations linked to the villain’s infamous stories. Hear intriguing and fascinating tales and clues to the identity of London’s most notorious murderer from the tour’s expert guide, the groups are small on this one so make sure someone knows where you are...
You can choose between a coach tour or walking tour (we like the coach because we’re lazy and it comes with fish and chips).

    5. Ghosts and not the Patrick Swayze covered in clay kind

This halloween, has there ever been a better time to take a spine tingling ghost tour? Ghost walks up and down the country are revealing the macabre side to the cities we call home. Do you know just how close to the paranormal you actually are? Have you ever seen the final resting place of Cromwells head? Ever stood on the site of a gruesome murder? For around £10 you and your mates can experience this lovely treat… in this life or the next.

    6. Your favourite movie experiences brought to life

Wow, that got dark, let's lighten the mood a little shall we?!
    Harry Potter - Lumos

Popular movie and TV show experiences are all the rage these days. Are you really a fan if you haven’t visited the inspiration behind the shows, the writing haunts or some of the key shooting locations? We’re talking Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and so many more. Usually around 1-1.5hrs these kinds of tours can be a big part of the day but without taking it all up. Ideal for the fan boys and girls amongst you.
SPOILER ALERT: Did you know most of Peaky Blinders was actually shot in Liverpool for example?
For the Potter heads amongst you there is obviously the Warner Bros Studio tour (including transport) where you can walk through life size halls and classrooms or take one of the more intimate walking tours around Edinburgh and view writing and film locations.

    7. Your favourite bands go on tour - Beatles

Hey even your favourite bands go on tour, that makes it a cool pass time right?! Ok this link is tenuous but since you’re here and we are talking about music what about the Beatles experience in London?
Travel back in time to see where John, George, Paul, and Ringo worked, played, and spent their time and walk through Carnaby, the heart of Swinging Sixties London, you’ll even see where the Beatles recorded Hey Jude

    8. It’s cheap and a day or night thing

    Kid named attention meme
Depending on your availability and length of lie in, you might not want to be out during the day - lucky for you and your nocturnal ways many of the tours and experiences run through the day and night as well. In fact some are much more suited to the night, for example the London evening cruise, wouldn’t make sense if it was during the day… then it would be called a ‘day cruise’. Whereas something like the View from the shard works day or night, in fact do both for a very different experience each time. (Did you notice that sneaky sales message I snuck in there?)
Many of the tours and experiences can be found for less than £10 but obviously become more expensive the more there is to do on them.

    9. The way to a good tour participant is through their stomach (famous saying…)

    Dinner crew assemble
We hear you when you say ‘I really want a Peppa Pig themed afternoon tea, on a bus driving around London’, it just so happens that we have the exact thing right here! So if your only mates are 4 year olds then get booking.
On the other hand, you might prefer a more mature setting for you and your mates’ lazy Saturday, so combine sightseeing with an amazing dining experience like an afternoon tea cruise in York or a gourmet dining experience on board a panoramic bus in London (don’t worry they have toilets and everything - I checked).

    10. Finally, let's talk COVID safety

    Man on a plane
So, not sure if you know but there is a pandemic going on. Therefore we couldn’t rightly advocate doing things we didn’t think were safe. All the tours and experiences have enhanced safety and hygiene measures and smaller groups - also outdoors! (Mostly). This is a win in our books. No one likes huge group tours anyway. So grab a bunch of friends and book a tour knowing you’ll probably be the only ones on the tour, and with free cancellation you’re totally covered.
Well there you have it, 10 reasons wringed from the neck of all my marketing know how. But seriously, you have to admit, some of them do look really good. Give it a go, you might just become the best weekend activity planner since your mum in the 6 weeks school holiday.
You need more?! Well for bookings made in October we have an exclusive 5% off discount code. Just enter 5FUNSEP at check out to receive a discount off your entire basket. Now get out of here you scamp.
