I was deeply moved by the stained glass at the Nitori Art Museum. Otaru is a town full of delicious food, but here you can also encounter the wonderful stained glass of Tiffany, which you can't see in Tokyo. I've seen magnificent stained glass in European churches, but you can't get close to them. Here, you can see the stained glass up close.
All the four museums are walking distance to one another. Exchange for a physical ticket for the four by using the Klook QR code provided at any first museum you visit.
The four art museums are all in close proximity. They are all renovated old buildings in Otaru. They are full of Otaru-style glass artworks, decorative art furniture, and classic Japanese artist works such as Ukiyo-e, Oriental paintings, oil paintings, sculptures, etc. The exhibits are very rich in content and can be viewed in about three hours. It is very worth it! I was also lucky enough to see the limited-time Mucha exhibition, a perfect art journey!
The four buildings are all beautiful except for the bank. Nitori only has designated areas where you can take photos. You can take photos in other buildings without flash. If you have read the introduction and tour of each work in detail, Nitori will take about one hour and the remaining 30 minutes. It can be ended and is suitable for activities scheduled in the afternoon.
Really was blown away by the artwork explored in these museums. Definitely reco to go!
The pieces are exquisite, the glass wares are indeed fine. The view of the Otaru Canal is awesome. Book your tour now in the Otaru Art Base Museum, for the art lovers and spectators.
People who are interested in art should just consider getting the pass. more worth it than individual tickets. Ard 2-3 hours depending on how long u want to spend in each location!
The ticket exchange is convenient and the price is reasonable. The four places are very close to each other. If you like to see museums, you can visit them. Personally, I am not interested and I quickly visited all four places.
