Kaohsiung: Dashu Century-Old Kiln Factory - DIY Experience
Sanhe Tile Kiln is located in Dashu District, Kaohsiung. Registered in 1918 during the Japanese colonial period, it is now 104 years old. It is one of the few remaining kiln factories in Taiwan that still produces bricks and tiles using traditional methods. In 2001, it was honored by the Council for Cultural Affairs as one of the top 100 historical buildings in Taiwan. It also preserves and passes on the traditional brick-making and tile-firing techniques, providing brick and tile building materials needed for the restoration of Taiwanese historical sites and old houses. Furthermore, it uses bricks and tiles as materials to develop and design cultural and creative products and DIY hands-on experiences! The enduring traditional bricks and tiles are no longer just bricks and tiles, but are integrated into life, becoming one of the modern aesthetics of life.

The DIY location is one of the few remaining kilns in the Dashu area. Due to decreased demand, the old kiln factory transitioned into a tourist attraction. The shop thoughtfully packages all the DIY materials into a single kit. Before you start, they demonstrate the steps, provide helpful tips, and teach you how to make your creation look its best, which is very considerate. If you follow the steps, your finished product won't differ much from the display models. The entire process takes about two hours, and the time flies by when you're focused. I really enjoyed the red brick DIY here. If you're visiting Kaohsiung or Pingtung, consider spending a morning here to get hands-on.

I really recommend the China Travel Service High Speed Rail. Not only can you take the high speed rail at a discount, but you can also have a great new experience. This time I chose Sanhe Wayao’s painted brick coasters. I originally thought it would be simple and boring, but I didn’t expect that I would enter the world of creation. I couldn't help myself. The whole three-hour experience was super enjoyable. There were resident singers performing for everyone who wanted to DIY. The staff were also very attentive in teaching and explaining. The weather was so nice that I could listen to songs while creating. It was really chill~ ~After the end, the sausage and rice sausage vendor next to the parking lot was also delicious. It was a perfect ending with a full meal and a drink~~~Recommended sincerely🤜🏻🤛🏼
I bought a high-speed rail combined ticket and purchased it. This is the first time I have seen this product. It is worth taking a walk around the Kaohsiung Old Railway Bridge. The scenery is very beautiful.
The staff is very kind. There are coasters with twelve zodiac signs that you can choose and color by yourself with a paintbrush. Afterwards, you can also take a walk to the old iron bridge!
This was a cute experience I thought I was making something but I bought the wrong one lol. I loved the painting DIY as well. the staff was nice and even though I was alone I still enjoyed myself.
The experience allowed us to freely unleash our creativity and draw our own coasters. The kiln factory has a strong historical atmosphere, a comfortable environment, and the instructors are very enthusiastic and the teaching process is careful. The drawing process is not only fun, but also makes people feel the craft of handcraft.

The itinerary ordered together with the high-speed rail ticket is actually a very simple activity. You can freely create the color of the coasters, but it requires a little skill. Overall it is not bad. At the end, you can take a walk in the park next to it. It is a more leisurely itinerary. arrange.
I participated in the **Painted Coaster DIY Experience** at Dashu Centenary Kiln Factory in Kaohsiung. It was really a very interesting and fulfilling activity! It provides a rich DIY experience, allowing us to express our creativity freely and draw our own coasters by hand. The kiln has a strong historical atmosphere and a comfortable environment. The instructors are also very enthusiastic and the teaching process is careful. The painting process is not only fun, but also makes people feel the unique charm of handicrafts. The completed coaster is a souvenir worth collecting. This experience not only added to our travel memories, but also gave us a unique piece of art. I highly recommend it!
