What to expect
If you’ve only got one day to explore the beautiful Phi Phi Island, this full day excursion covers all the must-see sites. Visit Shark Point, Bamboo Island, Mosquito Island, Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, Pileh Lagoon, Loh Samah Bay, and Maya Bay. You’ll also get to see the amazing sunset views to end the day.
Our first stop is Shark Point. Named after the black-tipped sharks swimming in the area, Shark Point is a popular snorkeling spot among professional and amateur divers.
Our next stop is Bamboo Island, a pristine strip of land great for relaxing and snorkeling. Wade in the shallow waters and catch glimpses of the colorful fishes or lie down by the shore and soak up the sun before we climb aboard the boat and head to our next stop.
Take in the glorious limestone cliffs and azure waters at Mosquito Island, or Koh Yung. Don’t let its name worry you; the insects only come out in the evening. What you can look forward to are the spectacular rock formations, small quiet beaches and clear water for snorkeling.
We’ll head to Nui Bay next. This tiny little alcove surrounded by rock formations is a picturesque spot to relax and swim in. Then we’ll make our way to Monkey Beach to visit the friendly primates – but don’t get too close! We’ll also stop by Viking Cave, known for the Scandinavian-esque ships painted on its walls, and Pileh Lagoon, another stunning locale with emerald waters and towering cliffs.
Next, we’ll head to Loh Samah Bay where we’ll dive into the cool waters and swim with the colorful fish. After spending most of the afternoon in the water, we’ll board the boat and make our way to the famous Maya Bay, known for its appearance in the 1999 film The Beach. We’ll circle the scenic bay, taking in the gorgeous scenery and watching the sunset, before making our way back.

We opt to the private tour for more flexibility. The tour is good but sadly we didn’t went to the Mosquito Island due to it been closed since 5 years ago as mentioned by our boat captain Mr. Rob but strangely it was included in the package. We also didn’t went to the Maya Bay Beach as also been told closed although it was our supposed to be highlight of our tour. We did went to bay instead to taking some pictures. Overall the trip is still enjoyable but could’ve been great if we did all the inclusive as mentioned in the package descriptions. The descriptions also failed to mentioned that we need to pay extra entrance fee of 200THB for Phi Phi Leh Island. It only mentioned about 400THB for the Maya Bay entrance fee. Anyway, we are thankful to Trip.guru for smooth process of the tour. Still do recommend this tour to others but please do update the tour package inclusive as it could breaks someone expectations or unwanted surprises later on. Thanks
We had the pleasure of taking a long-tail Boat tour guided and captained by Rob. The weather was really bad on the day of the tour. But Rob took proper care of us by sailing slow and steady which helped us from having sea sickness. His comforting communication and experienced workmanship help us get to the shore without any problem. Shout out to Rob. “No more wave, yayy”!!! That’s his way of comforting and assuring us that there’s no more wave coming our way.
Private and u can go where u want - plan with the boat driver .. all so friendly and nice boat day and swim and snorkelling … love Phi phi island but u need to book your speed boat or ferry early and end at 2pm boat coz last speed boat is at 3pm .
