It’s rare that my mother and my sister went to Hualien to play together. We specially arranged a Hualien Jade DIY course. A variety of jade stones will be provided on-site for you to choose from. The stones have already been pre-shaped in advance. Once you pick your favorite piece, an expert will guide you on how to polish it. There is no need to worry if it is your first time polishing, as you can take your time trying and learning throughout the process. After you finish your part, a professional will help make fine adjustments to make the final shape even more beautiful. Once polishing is complete, you will choose where to drill a hole, and the subsequent drilling and polishing will be assisted by a professional. While waiting for the polishing to finish, you can go ahead and pick out your preferred cord. There are two types and multiple colors available on-site: - 📿 Necklace cord: can be worn as a necklace - 🧿 Hanging cord: can be attached to a bag, phone, or elsewhere as a small charm. Once the polishing is done, the staff will call you over so you can hand them the cord you selected earlier for final assembly! The most fun part of the entire experience is getting to participate in polishing the jade yourself, rather than simply buying a finished product. In the end, receiving a piece of jade you helped create adds a special commemorative value.

This was a great experience to learn about the type of jade found within Taiwan and Hualien. We got to shape our own necklaces which was a great experience and a souvenir that has an extra layer to it! We were the only ones there since we were traveling during off peak season and had great staff and instructor to show us what to do. My boyfriend wears his all the time! Also great value for money and we’ve gotten many compliments about the price and quality of the product.

While did the polish by our own, the shape abit kind of off but the staffs are so kind enough to help us do the final touch out. A great xmas gift for us.
